When dealing with red tape like I did with AMEX recently, or when spending precious extra time and energy in your over-packed day trying to remember which card to use for each purchase and which shopping portal to go through, it’s easy to just think what’s the point? Is this really all worth it? It’s just points after all. True, in the grand scheme of things, it is just points. And some days it may not be worth the extra effort. But then you see why you are doing it. Or at least I see why I do it. I do it to bring cousins from thousands of miles away together to hold hands through Disney. I do it so that family members from many states around the country can spend a few days playing, laughing, and enjoying just being together. I do it so C can have all four grandparents together with her at the same time when she first sees a real live Mickey Mouse. I do it so my family can experience things we otherwise wouldn’t be able to afford. For me, that’s the point and on most days it is WAY worth it.
In the spirit of full disclosure, Mickey Mouse did almost have to escort two unnamed family members from the Mouse House after they had a bit too much “fun” on the Epcot beer tour, but still, it’s worth it. 🙂 (If you don’t know what I am talking about in regards to the Epcot Beer Tour, we need to talk before you head to the land of mouse – you’re missing out!)
