Grab the Points I Couldn’t Catch!

I have been away since Sunday afternoon for a quick work trip. I was staying at the Westin that I regularly stay at in Austin and wanted to take advantage of Starwood’s current Foursquare promo. I had never heard of Foursquare before this, so don’t feel too bad if you haven’t either. Foursquare allows you to “check in” to different locations – you have probably seen some of your friends “check in” to places on Facebook. They may very well be doing that using Foursquare! I normally have no desire to “check in” anywhere on the virtual world, but I would make an exception when points are involved. Until July 31st, Starwood (Westin, W, Sheraton, Aloft, etc….) is giving away 250 points every time you virtually “check in” to one of their hotels via Foursquare when you are a registered guest there. You can also potentially win other things such as free resort nights. You do need to first register for the promotion here and then link your Starwood and Foursquare accounts.

Well, I tried to download Foursquare for my old-school model Iphone, but the software on it was too old for the application to be downloaded. If you have never downloaded an app to your phone, go to the app store and search for “Foursquare” and you should find it with no problem. Leaving on a Sunday for a work trip always make me a bit grumpy, as weekends are “family time”, so between than and me being sick, and Little C being sick, I didn’t get the software updated and the app installed before I had to leave to go to the hotel. So, no bonus 250 Foursquare points for me this time. I have another work trip in a few weeks, so I will try to have it done by then and report back about how well it works! I will also be “hotel hopping” between two Starwood hotels for that trip, so I should be able to do it twice!

Here is Little C trying to catch a chicken (while flapping her “wings”) at the petting zoo a couple weekends ago! No worries, she didn’t catch it either! You win some, you lose some. 🙂
