I’ll start with the big news…..Mommy Points is in the process of joining the BoardingArea family of blogs!
I am very excited to be making the transition over to BoardingArea as there are many blogs there that I read on a daily basis, and that were part of my inspiration to start Mommy Points! That said, there may be a day or two break in my posting while the transfer process is complete. You will still be able to get to Mommy Points by going to www.mommypoints.com just as you always have, or you will be able to access it directly through the BoardingArea website.
In the meantime, here are a couple Mini-Points about some of the big happenings in the points and frequent flyer world today.
1. The Starwood American Express card that comes with 30,000 SPG points and a spend requirement of $4,500 in the first three months is now available to all without a referral. (Read more here about why this is a good deal) The downside is that those who were planning to use a link given to us by a referrer so that they could get 5,000 SPG points may no longer be able to as the link for those referrals seems to no longer be operational. Not sure if that is a short-term glitch or a permanent thing. I’m about 90% sure that I will apply for this card, but am waiting a few more weeks to do so. Deadline for approved application is August 22nd.
2. American Express Membership Rewards is now offering a 67% bonus on Membership Rewards to Delta. That is via a 40% Rebate. Sort of a weird way to do it and in the end you are still getting Sky Pesos – just 67% more of them! However, if you need more Delta Skymiles, this might be a good way to get them. Read more about it from View From the Wing and The Points Guy.
That’s it for now. Thank you so much for your support and see you very soon over on BoardingArea!
