United has dramatically changed the terms and conditions of their (once fantastic) Months of Miles promo. It has gone from unlimited mileage earnings to a 25K mileage limit, and from no minimum purchase on dining transactions to a $10 minimum. It is not yet entirely clear what will happen to those, like me, who registered and had transactions under the old T&Cs, but I don’t have an overly good feeling about it. We are with United execs today at the SMD3, so maybe we can get some clarification…..maybe. Changing the terms so dramatically in the middle of a promo should not be tolerated, especially if they try to retroactively not give credit for transactions that did count under the old terms, but not the new.
More to come on this for sure.
Hat tip to Million Mile Secrets and Flyertalk for info about these changes. (Not quite skilled enough yet on this Touchpad to do links to those sites, sorry!)
