Chicago Seminars Update and Quick Giveaway

Update: Shirts are all claimed!  Will email the winners soon.

I have been at the Chicago Seminars hearing from some of the best miles and points collectors.  While the speakers have all been great – the informal chats with other attendees in-between sessions has been equally as valuable.  Just today I learned things from Lucky @ One Mile at a Time about maximizing Starwood points, Gleff @ View From the Wing about booking award tickets, Rick @ Frugal Travel Guy about credit card sign-ups, and Brian @ The Points Guy about maximizing Amex and Ultimate Rewards points.

I loved this shot from Rick’s session when he asked who all has signed up for a rewards earning card in the last year.  It wasn’t everyone, but pretty close!

I will give a more detailed review of the Seminars in an upcoming post, but for now I want to help share the seminar love to those of you who couldn’t make it – and help out the t-shirt sales.  The profits from t-shirt sales will go toward charity, so we don’t want any shirts to go unsold!

So, the first two people who comment on this post with their favorite miles and points tip they have learned this year (along with your shirt size) will get shirts sent to them courtesy of Mommy Points!  Ready, set, go!  BTW, feel free to share your tip of the year even if the two free shirts are already taken.  🙂

    • …by making purchases you would have made anyway, but you have to initiate the purchase through the US site in order for the hits to count. Prob too late for cc signups, but still time to get to 36 if one hustles (learned on mommypoints) 🙂

  1. And if I indeed have won a shirt, I re-donate the shirt to a worthy reader (or your own family member) of your choosing!

  2. Best tip is to apply for both the VISA and AMEX AAdvantage cards since it does one credit pull instead of two. XL size!

  3. @jetsetr, you are a winner but if you have too many shirts I will re-gift it!

  4. Here’s a ( non-related ) tip: stock up on candles and batteries for the winter …. Wwaaahhhh, I am one of the 2 million sitting at home with no power in the northeast. Power better come on soon… I’m freezing! Forget the shirt… I’ll take a down comforter. Sorry i will miss you at the seminar and party. Wish i was in Chicago! Have fun!! =^..^=
