I just received an email informing that the current Chase Ink Bold 50,000 Ultimate Rewards offer is being “updated” onΒ  11/28/11. I can’t tell you for sure if that means it is being updated to something better or something worse, but I just wanted to give you fair warning in case you were on the fence about applying.Β  I was just approved for this card a few days ago, and am very glad I got in on it. This offer requires you to spend $5000 on the card within the first three months in order to receive the 50,000 Ultimate Rewards point bonus. The annual fee is waived for the first year.

Read about the card and my experience getting approved here.

Update: My affiliate links no longer are active, but you can still get 50,000 bonus points with some updated benefits directly from Chase!

If you are interested, you can apply now for the Ink Bold(SM) with Ultimate Rewards – 50,000 Bonus Points.

Also, in case you are interested in the New Ink Cash(SM) Business – Earn up to $250 Bonus Cash Back offer it is also being “updated” on 11/28/11.

These are my affiliate links, so I will receive a commission in the event you use my link and get approved for the card. In return, you get a great card that I personally have myself and my undying gratitude. πŸ™‚

  1. How was the interrogation? I got mine 2 weeks ago and will pay my income taxes to meet spending requirement in time for my next churn.

    • @atxtravel, haha. Totally kidding. There are lots of great blogs to follow these days! I have a hard time keeping up myself. πŸ˜‰

  2. Thanks for your post on your interrogation! I just called to check on it. Got asked some questions, but not as many as you. Got approved by closing one old account.

I saw on the Points Guy’s blog the number for the business reconsideration line. It’s different than the personal according to him.

I called and got a person right away. So nice!

    • @Benny, congrats on the approval! You are right that there are two different recon line numbers. I called the general status inquiry number first and I think that is the same for both. They then transferred be to what I think is the business recon line.

  3. Love your blog! Quick question on the spending requirements – do you know if the clock starts ticking once you get the card, or once your ACTIVATE the card?

Thanks again for all you do!

    • @Neil, thanks so much! You can double-check with Chase, but I have always heard that it begins once you are approved for the card. To be on the safe-side that has always been the date that I have gone with.

  4. Thank you for disclosing the referral links when you post them. I really appreciate that, and I wish some of the other boarding area bloggers would follow your lead. Maybe boarding area needs a “best practices” document and code? πŸ™‚

Thanks for the info/update also. To be honest, that 5k min spend is the thing that’s prevented me from signing up for the great 50k Ink Bold offer.

    • @LIH Prem, the 5K spend can be hard in some cases. We will be shifting all of our spending to that card for a couple of months to hit it. As for the disclosure of referral links, I try very hard to remember to put that info into each relevant post. In my view, it is important info to include. I know some bloggers prefer to just have a general disclosure somewhere on their site rather than include that info on each post.

  5. After getting the expected message that Chase needed time to review my application, I called the reconsideration line and after a fairly straight-forward interview process, I got approved for my Chase Ink Bold card. But I’d like to mention something the agent passed along – that there is a new (at least I think it’s new) program which awards an additional 20% bonus on your points if you can link the Chase Ink Bold card to a Chase banking (checking?) account! I’m not sure how accurate this information is, but I’ll definitely be looking into this at my Chase branch. This effectively makes base earnings on the Ink Bold 1.2%!

    • @Neil, you are absolutely correct about the Chase Checking bonus. I remember reading about it on a few blogs recently, but can’t remember exactly which ones. If anyone else remember who recently posted about the Chase checking deal, feel free to share!

  6. hi MP, can you please help me understand why Chase gave you a 10K line for your ink bold card, even though it’s a charge card, with no spending limits? so you should be able to charge more than 10K, no? thanks in advance!

    • @Peter, you are right that it is a charge card and has to be paid off each month, but the maximum they are going to allow me to put on it each month is 10K, so that is my limit. I am deemed to risk for an unlimited amount of charges I guess. πŸ˜‰
