Last week I posted about the Hilton HHonors 2,500 bonus point promotion that is available for just over 24 hours beginning on January 17, 2012 12:00pm Eastern and ending on January 18, 2012 12:59pm Eastern.  There were some technical glitches earlier today when the promo went live, so they extended it an extra hour.  As of the writing of this post that means that there are just over 15 hours left to get in on those extra 2,500 bonus HHonors points.  You can earn a maximum of 10,000 bonus points from this promo.  The great things about this sale are that you can book weekend nights through December 30, 2012 and it is “stackable” with other HHonors promotions – the bad thing about this sale is you must pay for your reservation in full at the time of booking and it is non-refundable.  That may be okay for some reservations, but there is no way I am making a non-refundable hotel reservation for December 2012!  However, if your plans are such that a non-refundable reservation works for you, then take a look at this deal before it ends on Wednesday at 12:59PM Eastern.

I did take a quick peek at this promo at some various properties, and found it to be pretty decent at some locations, when available.  However, for the two weekends I looked at for New York City, the deal was not available at almost all properties, so it certainly isn’t available everywhere every weekend.  My husband would probably kill me if I booked any more trips today (since we just got back from a trip a few hours ago), but a weekend in May at Hilton Galveston Resort looked pretty affordable using this deal.  Of course, extra points are always nice as well.  😉

For the purposes of this promo a weekend stay is defined as “a stay is a completed reservation for any night Thursday through Sunday in 2012. If you plan to check-in on a Thursday, a two-night minimum is required to book using the Any Weekend, Anywhere Sale rate and to receive the 1,000 Hilton HHonors Bonus Points through the Any Weekend, Anywhere Sale.”  This promo also stacks with the 5,000 HHonors “More Points” weekend bonus promo that I posted about here.  (This was confirmed on Facebook by a HHonors rep)  The “More Points” promo runs until March 31st and does require separate registration.  That means for a two-night weekend stay you can potentially get 7,000 points from the  “More Points” promo, 1,000 from the “Any Weekend, Anywhere” promo, and an extra 2,500 from this 24-hour promo.  10,500 bonus HHonors points for a two-night weekend stay during the overlap time of the two promos is pretty awesome.   This also stacks with some of their airline promos that are described by Loyalty Traveler here.  Of course, you still also earn the base points that you normally earn from your HHonors stays.

Have I confused you yet?  If so, I totally understand.  This “promo on top of promo” stuff is a bit confusing at first.  Here are the steps to take advantage of this 24 hour promo:

STEP 1: Book an Any Weekend, Anywhere Sale reservation using the form on the 24-Hour Bonus Event tab during the 24-Hour Bonus Event (12:00pm ET on January 17, 2012 to 12:59pm ET on January 18, 2012). Only stays booked using the ANY WEEKEND, ANYWHERE SALE rate will qualify for the 24-Hour Bonus Event.

STEP 2: Return to the 24-Hour Bonus Event tab to enter your reservation confirmation and Hilton HHonors numbers.  Note that you will have to “like” them on Facebook to do this.

STEP 3: Complete your Any Weekend, Anywhere Sale stay by December 30, 2012 and earn 2,500 HHonors Bonus Points!
If you want more information, you can check out the FAQ’s regarding this promo and check out the Terms and Conditions.

As always, be sure to compare all of the available rates to make sure you aren’t paying “extra” for your free points.  Also, be very sure about your bookings since they are non-refundable.  So, did you find some availability that worked for you with this promo?

    • @Steve, ha ha. My mind is clearly still on the “peaks” of Colorado. 😉 I probably shouldn’t have been let near a keyboard tonight. Thanks!

  1. It’s not much of a promotion. I did a price comparison between the price during the sale and last week, the price is higher now. I did managed to get one for the same price as last week. I needed a hotel anyway.
Also a lot of the hotels I wanted were unavailable. And there I was thinking to go down to San Antonio for the weekend.
