To round out the first of five weeks of Daily Getaway deals, discounted Busch Gardens and SeaWorld tickets are up for grabs tomorrow (Friday).  I actually plan to take my little girl to SeaWorld this year as I think she would love the shows, the fish, etc.  We had planned to go in December, but cancelled the trip when we found out last minute that our renters were moving out and we needed to get our house ready to go on the market.  (Which was a huge blessing since it sold quickly!)  I did a bit of research for SeaWorld tickets then, and found that there are many coupons and discounts out there.  Heck, even the McDonald’s near SeaWorld had pretty good coupons available.  I also found out that if there is any chance you will be going more than once in that year, that a season pass makes the most financial sense.  Additionally, we had lined up free passes for my mom and aunt, both of whom are/were teachers in Texas, and my cousin’s family who were active duty military.  You can read more about that here.  I share that info because make sure you do a little research about your specific situation before deciding whether or not these discounted tickets are a good deal for your family.

One SeaWorld Ticket – $45

One single-day adult or child admission to choice of either:

  • SeaWorld® Orlando
  • SeaWorld® San Diego
  • SeaWorld® San Antonio
  • Expires April 30, 2013.
  • Valid during regular operating hours and not valid for separately ticketed events.
  • Parking not included.
  • Not valid for discounts on food or merchandise.
  • No blackout dates.
  • Tickets will be issued and sent via US Mail to the shipping address provided at time of purchase within 7 to 10 business days. No exceptions.

A quick look at the prices for SeaWorld San Antonio showed that the online price is $49.99 for adults and $39.99 for children.  SeaWorld Orlando is more expensive at $71.99 for adults and $63.99 for children online (the second day is free with this deal).  SeaWorld San Diego is $73.900 for adults and $65.00 for children (this deal is good for seven days).  So, for the Orlando and San Diego properties, this may be a better deal than for San Antonio.  I found additional coupon codes at one of my favorite websites, www.retailmenot.com.

If you are for sure only one to go to one park for one day, this deal may be worth considering (especially if you are using an Amex for an extra 10% off).  It may provide more value for the more expensive properties.  I will be sitting this one out as I am pretty sure I can score cheaper tickets to SeaWorld San Antonio elsewhere, but $40 for a day at SeaWorld or Busch Gardens certainly isn’t a bad deal – it just may or may not be the “best” deal.

If you want to purchase a ticket, head to the Daily Getaways website Friday at 1PM Eastern.  There are over 1,000 of each type of ticket available, so you should be able to get one if you want in on the deal.

  1. As luck would have it, I just booked a trip to San Diego less than 24 hours ago (taking the 3 year old and the husband). I’ll be logged on tomorrow to try to snag some Sea World tickets!

  2. LOL, same here Leslie! We’re going to San Diego for Memorial Day with DH and 4 year old and Sea World is definitely on the agenda. So discounted tickets would be great!
