Country Inn & Suites and Park Inn by Radisson Also Doing “Big Night Giveaway”?

Thanks to a very interesting comment on this post by Tim2, I learned that Country Inn & Suites and Park Inn by Radisson may be doing their own version of a Big Night Giveaway – only for 44,000 points instead of 50,000 points.  However, the 6,000 point trade-off will be worth it to many who don’t have a Radisson or Radisson Blu in their area.  This would open this promo up to even more folks!

What we don’t know yet is if you could only do one of the promos, or if you would be able to do different ones from different chains.  Your guess is as good as mine on that one, but either way I am excited to see more options for this emerge!

Here are the three different promos we know of so far:

Award: 50,000 bonus miles
Starts: 5/14/2012
Expires: 7/15/2012
Restrictions: Stay at any participating Radisson or Radisson Blu hotel worldwide. Registration required. Visit http://www.radissonbignightgiveaway.com

Award: 44,000 bonus points
Starts: 5/14/2012
Expires: 7/15/2012
Restrictions: Stay at any participating Country Inns & Suites by Carlson hotel worldwide. Registration required. Visit http://www.sogocountry.com

Award: 44,000 bonus points
Starts: 5/14/2012
Expires: 7/15/2012
Restrictions: Stay at any participating Park Inn by Radisson hotel worldwide. Registration required. Visit http://www.parkinnoneplusone.com (though this link doesn’t seem to be working right now)

Keep an eye on this FT thread for more info and speculation.

  1. I still have my points from the last promo – looking to use them in Chicago sometime. Anyone know if they expire?

  2. They do expire. Award Wallet shows me an expiration date for Club Carlson so you can probably get the info from your account.

  3. Do you happen to know if the “Fully prepaid; no changes or refunds” rate qualifies as a “point qualifying rate”? I ask because I notice that this saves me about $35 on the reservation. I’d really like to save that $35 since I’ll definitely be keeping the reservation. ME WANTS POINTS!!

  4. I tried to book a Radisson just to test it and noticed that those rates that do not qualify specifically say “Not eligible to earn points” or some language along those lines, so I assume that those that don’t have such language qualify. Last time I did the promo, just to be sure, I called the hotel prior to booking it and told them I was trying to meet the requirements for this promotion, just to make sure that the stay was going to earn me points.

  5. What if I book a stay using UR points? Since Chase would be paying for the hotel using my points, I should still get the 50,0000 pts, correct?

  6. @Anon, i think Club Carlson’s points do not expire as long as the acct is “active”. pls correct me if i am wrong

@Michael, where can i see if the reservation will be “eligible to earn points”? thanks.

  7. I just got a response from Radisson on Facebook indicating that this is Part 2 of the Big Night Giveaway and it will work the same way.

They also said that it will be open to non-US residents.

Perhaps the biggest news is that they specifically said that registering for all three would be a great way to earn more points. We just have to register for each promotion separately with each brand.

I know I will definitely be taking advantage of all three for myself and my wife. That’s 138k points for each of us. Woo-Hoo!!

  8. -Looks like you can register for all three according to Radisson on Facebook!
-The rate you stay on must earn points to be eligible, so pretty sure that counts out friends and family rates.
-Tim2, thanks so much for the comment!
-I would not expect a booking made on a third party website to count. It might, but I wouldn’t personally try it.

  9. to answer the “do points expire” question- the answer is Yes – after 24 months inactivity. the Club Carlson website says:

We may refuse at any time at our sole discretion to enroll you, or modify or terminate your membership, or void or cancel your entire Point balance if any Points in your account are issued, received, or redeemed through fraud, theft, other illegal means, or otherwise except as expressly authorized in the Program Rules, without any liability to you or any party. In addition, your account may be closed if no Points are earned or redeemed during a 24-month period. All Points in the account at the time of termination will be forfeited at that time.

      • LOL! My bad! I saw that it was written “May 7” and registration opened “May 15”. I thought it was this year! I’ll read a little closer next time. Thanks for getting back to me!
