Happy Friday and a happy end to the five weeks of Daily Getaway Deals.  It’s been about as I expected, at times lucrative, at times fun, and at times frustrating.  However, in the end it was a very successful five weeks for many of us (at least according to the comments I have seen here).  My family was able to get in on several deals including: Priority Club Points, Wyndham Points, Choice Points, Best Western Points, and an awesome package at the Mirage.  I wasn’t available a few of the days to try for some of the other packages I wanted such as Hertz and Hyatt, but I’m still very happy for what I got.  I hope that they bring this promo back next year (maybe with a few more available packages!).

Enough of that, here is the deal for today – hotel packages at various Caesars/Harrahs properties.  All of these deals include extras beyond just a room, so be sure to look at the total package to see if it makes sense for you.  These deals go on sale today at 1PM Eastern.

I already have my Vegas package for the year so I will not be going for one of these packages.  While these deals are not “jaw dropping”, some of these deals don’t look too bad if you were planning on getting these “extras” anyway – especially with the 10% Amex discount.  Let me know if you decide to get one, and thanks again for commenting and sharing info about the Daily Getaways promo this year!  I love hearing about your successes!

  1. mommypoints,

Since you have at least a passing interest in Vegas you might want to look into the various points and rewards programs offered by Harrahs and others. I don’t know if your or your husband do any gaming, but it really doesn’t take all that much effort or money to start getting nice offers. My wife and I are fairly small potatoes players, but I have monthly standing offers for free hotel rooms and other perks at some properties. Its another fun points accumulation game. BTW – I’m a daily reader now – keep up the good work.

  2. thanks for all that you do. I have been a fan of Daily Getaways for the past few years and they are truly wonderful. If I didn’t read your column, I almost would have missed out this year.
I was lucky to get the 50,000 Club Carlson points that I was hoping for.
On another note, was it me or did some of the prices seem higher this year?

  3. @Bibiloman, so true! My husband plays a fair amount of craps (I do smaller amounts on Black Jack and video poker). He was getting comped very generously for a while at the MGM properties, but that got a bit more stingy after the recession eased up some. We still do get some stuff though – that would be a good thing to post about at some point. Thanks for the comment and for reading!

@Terri, thanks for the comment! I do think the prices were a smidge higher this year. Not terribly higher, but a bit higher on some things for sure.
