Make Your Credit Card Work for You: BOGO Fandango Movie Tickets Today

I know (gasp!) this isn’t directly related to miles and points, but it is directly related to something that most of us have as a result of chasing miles and points…..a Visa Signature card.  The basics are that you purchase a ticket to see a movie on a Friday (like today) and you get a second ticket free. Um, Avengers anyone?

Movies are always better with a friend, so treat yours to 2- for-1 tickets! Each Friday from May 4 to August 17, Visa Signature cardholders who purchase 2 or more tickets through this page will receive 1 of the tickets free of charge, while supplies last.

Tickets must be purchased on a Friday for a Friday show time. Limit 1 movie ticket per Visa Signature card purchase, per 30 day period following the date of a purchase in connection with this offer.

Of course there are terms and conditions and little details, so here are a few of those:

Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia who have a valid Visa Signature card in good standing. Purchase two or more movie tickets with a valid U.S. issued Visa Signature card on www.fandango.com/visasignature on a Friday for any film currently on sale for a Friday showing and receive one of the tickets purchased for that show free of charge. This movie ticket offer is only valid for purchase each Friday from May 4, 2012 – August 17, 2012 between 4:01 AM GMT-9:59 AM GMT, or while supplies last. Visa in its sole discretion reserves the right to terminate this movie ticket offer at any time. Limit of one (1) complimentary movie ticket, up to $19.50 value limit (including Fandango convenience fee), per Visa Signature card, per period of 30 days following the date of a purchase in connection with this offer.

Some of the Visa Signature cards I have include:

Chase Sapphire Preferred Card, the United MileagePlus Explorer (though read this thread if you want to apply for that card in the near future), and a Bank of America World Points card (that I don’t use as the points are crummy, but that also has no annual fee and was my first Visa Signature card).  There are many other Visa Signature cards shown below, so check your wallet, you might have one and not even realize it!  Also, some Chase Freedom cards are Visa Signatures, so if yours is then use that as this quarter is 5x at movie theaters!

In case you are curious, you can read about the first time we took our toddler to a movie here and about last year’s similar BOGO promo here (which I actually think was one of my first posts).  If you take advantage of this deal, enjoy your buy one get one movie.  If I could just get a babysitter, I would be off to see the Avengers tonight myself!  Maybe next week.  😉  Thanks to Slick Deals for tweeting about this last night!

Disclosure: I do receive a commission if you are approved for a credit card by using one of my links.  Now, go enjoy your movie!  😉

  1. Its an amazing promo. I saw Avengers 3D with my wife using this promo on the first day.

Another great promo for Visa signature card holders is that $20 dollars gets to $25 fandango bucks -> a straight 20% savings. Too bad Chase Freedom is a not a signature card (to get addition 5% for this quarter).
I have combined this with my AMCStubs card (so no online fees and fandango bucks spent on AMC tickets count towards $100 spend on stubs program to get $10 off).

    • @Chirag, hope the movie is as good as others have said! Also, some Chase Freedoms are Visa Signatures. Mine is a MasterCard, but there are some out there. 😉

  2. My wife and I used this promo all the time when it was going on last year to get into Cinebistro, which has $15 per person tickets, so we saved a lot.

  3. Good deal! Though we still have a ton of movie gift cards leftover from the holidays…

Is there any particular rhyme or reason to which Chase Freedom cards are Visa Signature cards? My Chase Freedom is a Visa, but it doesn’t say Visa Signature anywhere on it like my Chase Sapphire does.

  4. “This movie ticket offer is only valid for purchase each Friday from May 4, 2012 – August 17, 2012 between 4:01 AM GMT-9:59 AM GMT”

Am I reading this right that the tickets are only on sale on the East Coast from 23:01 Thursday to 04:59 Friday? Late night sale!

  5. Don’t you mean AVengers? I thought I heard you say aVENGers.

LOL, my husband and I are still laughing about your husband’s post.
