Since most of us don’t use our Avios to actually fly British Airways (due to the very high fees), this will probably have limited appeal, but in case you were planning on using your Avios on BA this year anyway, this may save you 25% on tickets in economy or premium economy. That means a round trip ticket from NYC to London would be 30,000 Avios for World Traveller (economy) instead of the regular 40,000. It would be 45,000 Avios instead of the regular 60,000 for the same trip in World Traveller Plus (premium economy). That doesn’t sound too bad until you factor in the $600 + in fees!
If you book a redemption flight between 16 and 30 May 2012 in World Traveller or World Traveller Plus, to any of the selected destinations below, you’ll need 25% fewer Avios to purchase your flight.
We are offering 25% off the normal Avios required for every British Airways redemption flight to London from Boston, Philadelphia, New York, Toronto, Montreal, St Lucia or Bermuda. If you would like to travel through London, we also offer 25% off redemption flights to Tokyo, Shanghai, Beijing, Bangalore, Mumbai, Delhi, and Dubai.
If seats are available, you can take your redemption flight between 16 May and 31 December 2012.
The Avios you redeem for your redemption flight will show on your booking with the 25% discount already applied.
For those with an extra $1952 dollars burning a hole in your pocket, you can outright purchase a round trip ticket on British Airways in business class, which is actually a better deal than using Avios to fly business class and still paying over $1000 in fees!
You are cordially invited to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s reign. To mark this historic occasion, we are offering a special all-inclusive Business Class fare for just $1952 round-trip in Club World (Business Class) to London and Mancheste from select US gateway cities, coast to coast. Simply book your flights between now and May 18, 2012 for travel between May 26, 2012 and June 9, 2012. As a Club World customer, you can relax in our exclusive lounges before your flight and enjoy fully flat beds, gourmet menus, and other luxury amenities once on board.
Similar savings can also be found on American Airlines or on Iberia when traveling to Europe in Business Class. Plus, British Airways is offering other great fares to London in Business Class for July and August travel, too.
You only have until this Friday, May 18, 2012, to take advantage of this opportunity, so book now and start practicing your royal wave.
British Airways flights departing to and from Houston, Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix and Tampa are excluded from this offer and there is limited availability on British Airways flights from Chicago. Flights operated by any other BA code-share or franchise carriers do not qualify for this promotion. All travel must be completed by June 9, 2012.
A Saturday night stay is required, and there are more terms and conditions that you can read here. You do earn Avios for the flight. Last time I checked I didn’t have $6,000 in my pocket to fly the three of us to London in biz class (though Houston is excluded regardless), but it actually isn’t a horrible deal for those who pay for business class tickets.
