Club Carlson 30% Sale – Save More $, Earn Lots of Points!

Of course a few hours after I posted some updates about Club Carlson and the Big Night Giveaway last night, I got emails from Radisson, Country Inn & Suites, etc. informing me of a new limited time “Invitation Only” (though I think anyone with the code can take advantage of the discount) 30% off sale that is good for some locations in the US, Canada, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean.  The timing made me laugh since it would have been great to include that info in my previous post, but I am very excited to see a sale like this return as it is perfect timing for those who are still looking to book and complete their Club Carlson stays for the Big Night promo.  Perhaps best of all is that it is a rate that can be cancelled, so you aren’t locking yourself into anything if your plans change down the road.  To learn more about the Big Night Giveaway promo, or to see some of the other latest updates related to that promo, read last night’s post.

This 30% off sale (use code 30PCTOFF) isn’t available at every property all of the time, but I was able to find some decent availability in limited areas I researched, if you had some flexibility with your dates.  Deals We Like points out that the promo doesn’t seem to work in the New York City region.  Sounds like a great excuse for you Northern city dwelling folks to head down South!   Might I interest you in Country Inn and Suites in Vero Beach, Florida for about $55 – or for a few more dollars upgrade to a one-bedroom suite?

Or, just come on down to Houston to catch an Astros game and shop at the Galleria.  True the Astros aren’t very good, and it will be about 150 degrees this summer, but The Park Inn is going for only $62 (plus tax) with this promo and our air conditioning is quite good.  You can even ice skate at the Galleria and pretend it isn’t sweltering outside.  😉

If you don’t want to mess with Best Rate Guarantees, and don’t have a AAA membership, then this is probably going to be your best bet to get some low prices for stays.  You do need to book your stays by June 12th and then complete the stays on specific dates between June 22 – September 1, 2012 (though of course the Big Night promos end in mid-July).   Each property has their own eligible dates, so you need to check the properties you are interested in for the exact details.  If you happen to search for a date that is not available with this promotion you can look on the calendar and quickly see what dates are available.

Here are the official terms and conditions of the 30% off sale:

  • The 30% Off Discount Offer (“Promotion”) is available for new reservations made between May 30, 2012 and June 12, 2012 for Eligible Stays at select Country Inns & Suites hotels in the Americas, Radisson® hotels in the Americas and Park Inn by Radisson hotels in the Americas (“Participating Properties”).
  • An Eligible Stay is defined as a booking at a Participating Property during the specific stay dates indicated for the Participating Property and for which the consumer specifically requested the 30% Off Discount Offer at the time of the reservation.
  • Guest who books and completes an Eligible Stay will receive 30% off the standard room rate for each night of the Eligible Stay. Excludes taxes and other incidental charges (such as resort fees, room service and room entertainment).
  • Rates for each night may vary.
  • Only standard rooms (single or double occupancy) are eligible for the Promotion. Extra person charges may apply if exceeding double occupancy.
  • Promotion is not valid for existing reservations and may not be used in conjunction with any other package, promotion, group or convention rate, or any other discounted rate.
  • Participating Properties are subject to change without notice.
  • Country Inns & Suites, Radisson and Park Inn by Radisson reserve the right to add, modify or discontinue these terms and conditions or the Promotion with or without notice.
  • Void where prohibited by law.
  • By participating in this Promotion, you agree and consent to these terms and conditions.
  • Promotion is subject to availability and the number of rooms available may be limited and will vary by Participating Property.  Blackout dates may apply.

Hope this helps you save a little extra money and earn some huge points with Club Carlson this summer!

  1. dear mommy!

i signed up for all those club carlson 50k and 44k offer last time. will I get the 44k or 50k points if I stay at club carlson hotel using this 30% off code?
    thanks

  2. “may not be used in conjunction with any other package, promotion”

Are you sure this is valid together with the Big Night promo?

  3. This is fantastic, I’ve been hunting for BRG deals ever since the Big Night Giveaway started and haven’t been that lucky. I already booked one room with 30PCTOFF a few minutes ago on a trip I’d already planned ($63 with tax!) and now I see that the only Radisson within 200 miles of me also has a couple weeks open for the 30PCTOFF code. Tons of points, here I come!

  4. @jim, I don’t see why not. As long as your rate earns points it should be just fine.
@maximizer, I have not read any issues with points posting regardless of the promo or type of rate booked as long as the rate earns points. If you are worried you can always check with Club Carlson directly, but I personally would not worry about any rate qualifying as long as it earns points.
    @JoshL, good job!

  5. I called Club Carlson and the new reservation I made today after getting the email and making a reservation at the Park Inn will get me the points from the big giveaway and the 30% off.

  6. DKnif, I booked at the Radisson Roseville this morning and the discount applied. Each property has different dates that qualify, so maybe you weren’t using the qualifying dates?

  7. People who received the targeted email report it to say that the code is good until June 12. However, when I click on the link (in Just Another Points Traveler’s blog) for the Radisson promo, it says, “Book by May 30, 2012 and get a 30% discount at select Radisson hotels when you stay during specific dates between June 22, 2012 and September 01, 2012.”

So just to be safe, I made my Radisson reservation TODAY.

  8. I also wanted to point out that looking into the packages offered can make sense as well. For example, the Raddison Chandler (Phoenix, AZ) offers a shopping package that offers a $50 mall gift card and free breakfast for $99 on select dates inluding this Saturday. After digging a little deeper and calling the hotel directly, the mall gift card is actually $50 American Express card that I look at same as cash. So all in w/ tax the room was $111 but subtracting out the $50 for Amex card it comes to $61. The regular room rate for the same day is $74 plus tax not including breakfast. The other benefit of course is that you also earn more points on the higher rate. I have noticed that packages offering gas cards to also work like this (assuming you value gas cards like cash).

  9. Not much luck in finding properties with the discount nights in Chicago for nights I need but I did use the topcashback link and AAA membership since I was lucky enough to get a temporary membership card in the mail today.

  10. Has it been verified that you actually have to physically stay at a property to get credit for the stay? As opposed to just a phantom stay, that is, pay for the room but don’t show? Does Radisson care, as long as you pay and provide a Club Carlson number?

    • @bf, I don’t personally know of any Radissons allowing phantom check-ins. I haven’t read any stories that they are being overly strict with check-outs, but for the most part you do have to check-in. (though I am sure there is some property somewhere that someone has found that will work with folks…..but I couldn’t tell you where that is)

  11. If I’m looking for a BRG does my rate have to be cheaper than the 30% off rate or can it be under the ‘Best Rate Available’ category?

    • @Mae, my understanding is sales don’t matter – it is the actual all-in price that matters. So, if the sale brings it down to 58.67, then that is the price – it doesn’t matter how it got there. That is true for the hotels.com side and the Club Carlson side.

  12. If I book the reservation with the “Advance Purchase” rate where I have to prepay to book the room, does it qualify for the Big Night Giveaway?

  13. Had anyone who used the 30% off rate gotten their Big Night bonus posted yet? Any response is greatly appreciated!
