Card offers from American Express have changed. Please go here for current offer.

I’ll keep this short since I don’t know how long the offer will last, but it seems that right now when you click on the affiliate link for the Amex Business Gold Rewards Card instead of getting the current public offer for 50,000 Membership Reward points after spending $5000 in three months, the offer is coming up as 75,000 Membership Reward points after spending $5,000 in three months.  That is a fantastic deal for that card, and the best public offer I can ever remember seeing.  Remember that the terms indicate the sign-up bonus is not available to applicants who have had this product or any other Business Gold, Green or Platinum Card® within the last 12 months.  This means that personal cards don’t matter in regards to getting the business sign-up bonus.

Application Link: The Business Gold Rewards Card® from American Express OPEN (now expired)

The 75K offer has come and gone in the last year, but always with a $10,000 spending requirement as far as I can remember.  So, if this card is on your radar now may be the time to pounce.  I did not get the 75K offer when using Firefox, but did when I switched to Safari.  Could be a browser thing, could be a cookies thing, who knows.  If it doesn’t come up for you on the first try, clear cache/cookies or try another internet browser.  75,000 Membership Rewards points are worth a minimum of $750, and I personally value them closer to $1,200.  This is especially true when you transfer them to hotel and airline partners during transfer bonuses like the current British Airways 35% transfer bonus.

In case you are new to business rewards credit card, here is a post on getting your first business credit card.  Again, based on history, I do not expect this offer to be around long at all.  Might be hours, might be a few days, but I would be shocked if it is more than that.  Let me know the 75K offer displays for you, and remember to take screen shots just in case.  Thanks to The Points Guy for sharing this news!

Here are the official terms listed on the page:

  1. Rob H says:

I got in on the 50k point offer about 3 weeks ago. Just sent a secure message to try for the match, I doubt they will but it’s worth a shot.

    • mommypoints says:

Rob, absolutely worth asking, but you are right that Amex seems to have really tightened up about doing that (unlike Chase), but I do still hear some success stories.

  2. Charlie says:

Appears to be gone :( Thanks for the headsup!

    • mommypoints says:

Charlie, it is still working for me. Try another browser and/or clear your cache. It didn’t work for me at first either!

  3. Will says:

Tried in incognito mode and then 3 other browsers, all 50k

    • mommypoints says:

Will, so weird. Still coming up for me in Safari. Would love to hear from someone else it is working for so I know I haven’t gone crazy. ;)

  4. Tim J says:

I tried a few times in an incognito window before 75k showed up. Approved; thank you!

  5. Naser says:

I got approved for my first business card without calling. I am quite surprised.

  6. Matt B says:

Was just blocked and flagged by my employer saying the link was classified as pornography! I’m sure it isn’t, but beware when applying from work!

  7. SC says:

I have never applied a biz card before as I don’t really have a biz to support. Does Amex put financial reviews on every biz cards within a year? Also, my last churn is 2/18, not quite 91 days yet. Should I risk it and just do 2nd churn early? Was planning to do Chase Ink Bold and Sapphire Preferred, and maybe two other ones with different banks. Thanks!

  8. mommypoints says:

Matt, maybe it is because it is an obscenely good deal? Okay, bad joke. ;)
Naser, congrats! I got that with Amex as well when I first started with biz cards. Makes it so much easier!
SC, I would not recommend lying on a biz card application. I do recommend thinking about things you do that are a business. To answer the FR question, (knock on wood) I have not had one and I have had a biz card over a year, so I do not think that is SOP. It of course could happen though.
The Ink Bold and Sapphire Preferred are stellar cards I also have and highly recommend.

  9. SC says:

Oh I wasn’t planning to lie, well, not exactly. I have a good plan in mind

  10. SC says:

Oops 2nd half of my last comment didn’t post. Should I stick to the 91 day rule though? It would mean I have to skip this one (which so far I kept pulling up 50K instead of 75K).

    • mommypoints says:

SC, depends on how heavily you apply for cards. If you are newer to it and don’t have as many inquiries the 91 day rule isn’t as important as if you already have a bunch of recent inquiries.

  11. Gio says:

Can you please explain why this is such a good deal? I don’t purchase airfare often so would this still be a good card for me.

    • mommypoints says:

Gio, 75,000 Membership Reward points are often best used when transferred to hotel or airline partners, but they can absolutely be used in other ways, too. For example, you could use them as one cent per point toward eligible charges on your card like gas, groceries, dining, and more. 75,000 points = $750 when used in that manner. You can also use toward merchandise if you wanted. Assuming you can meet the spending requirement and are eligible, this card really is fantastic for almost anyone since the points are so plentiful and can be used in so many ways.

  12. Gio says:

So do you guys just cancel the card when membership fee is due?

    • mommypoints says:

Gio, many folks do not keep some rewards cards beyond the first 11 months or so. Quite common. ;)

  13. El Jefe says:

It worked for me. Thanks for the heads up on this great deal!

  14. Glenn says:

Huh. Can’t apply as I already have one I haven’t canceled yet. But anyway, didn’t show up in Firefox. Didn’t show up in Chrome. But DID show up in Firefox Private Browsing Mode. Might be useful to do churns in private browsing windows in the future…

  15. John says:

The 75k offer didn’t appear on my Mac or PC regardless of browser, but it did on my iPhone and I got approved!

  16. Simona says:

Firefox gives 50K offer, and IE has the 75K, crazy! Also submitted, says “pending further review”. Thanks Mommy!

  17. mommypoints says:

El Jefe, you are most welcome and congrats!
    Glenn, thanks for sharing!
John, awesome and way to be resourceful. Congrats!
    Simona, woohoo!

  18. NateO says:

MP – I could not get the link to work in Safari, but I did get on with my phone (Android), fwiw.

My wife and I both got this card less than a week ago (doh!), so I’ve written to Amex to request the higher bonus. We’ll let you know what happens!

  19. mommypoints says:

    NateO, good luck!

  20. Anwar says:

I tried Chrome incognito and IE but was getting the 50K offer. I was able to get this offer through firefox private browser and signed up immediately.

    Thanks!!

  21. Sil says:

I have a SPG Biz with 3k CL, applied for the Gold Delta Skymiles Biz card 2 months ago and with $4800 CL. AMEX needed to take $4800 from my SPG Personal. Do I have a chance at the 75k Biz Card? All together I have SPG Personal and Biz, Gold Delta Biz and AMEX Hilton Honors.

  22. mommypoints says:

Anwar, good job and thanks for sharing!
Sil, do you have a chance – yes. Is it worth going for? Maybe. It is the best offer I have seen for this card, but in your case you may have to be willing to give up something to get it. May increase risk of FR if they think you are getting over-extended. Not a huge deal if you have been honest, but a pain none the less. Or, you could apply and get instant approval and never have an issue. No way to know!

  23. Nkk says:

Still working! Instant approval. :-). Thanks!

  24. mommypoints says:

Nkk, great news and thanks for sharing the update. Congrats!

  25. Sil says:

Mommypoints- Thanks for your encouragement. Used your link with safari and wasn’t able to submit the info so used firefox….Instant approval!!!! So does this mean I may have an “increase risk of FR if they think I am getting overextended”?

  26. Sil says:

BTW, I have asked similar question about this with 2 other blogger sites but thanks for being there to answer so you got the commission. From now on, will use your link.

    Thanks very much

  27. mommypoints says:

Sil, your support is appreciated. Tonight I am able to respond quickly since my kiddo is playing at Grandmas for a bit. ;) Congrats on the instant approval! You may have a somewhat increased risk due to several new-ish accounts, but that doesn’t mean it will happen. Just don’t go too crazy with spending on the cards and hopefully you will stay under the radar. Enjoy the points!

  28. Sil says:

Mommypoints- never lied on my salary. is selling stuff on ebay/craiglist considered ‘retail trade” ?…didn’t want to use “other” also estimated $3500 spending per month….didn’t want to write too much…should I be good. my salary is 80k to 100k

  29. Beta says:

Got the offer using Chrome, did not show up in Firefox or IE – applied, got the pending msg, so I called. Five minutes later I am trying to figure out how to best use the 75K miles!

  30. Lorinda says:

Worked in Safari… Instant approval even with being honest about being in business less than a year and almost no income yet. Thanks!

  31. mommypoints says:

Sil, if you were honest then I wouldn’t give it another thought. Even if you did get a FR you would likely be just fine. My mom went through one and was fine as she had been honest.
Beta, woohoo! Here is a post with a few ideas to get you started. http://mommypoints.boardingarea.com/2012/09/06/reader-question-what-to-do-with-membership-reward-points/
Lorinda, great! This really does seem to be a pretty easy biz card go get.

  32. Kim says:

Two more commissions coming your way. Thanks for always posting the great deals that make our travel plans possible.

  33. Joe says:

Thank you so much Mommy!!! You rock… I had already signed up for the 75k for 10 earlier in the year so it was a no go for me but signed up my mother. Approved in minutes.. Chrome.. 75K

  34. heather says:

Any thoughts on how many inquiries are too many. I currently have twelve and have held off on doing any more churns as I have been declined twice by Citibank for “too many”. It will be a while but should I wait until more fall off?

  35. Tin says:

Just used your link and instant approval. Enjoyed reading your blog. Thanks.

  36. Sil says:

I had 5 inquiries for the last 12 months. Also I applied for 5 credit cards in early March 2013, one being the AMEX Gold Delta Skymiles Biz card. I was instantly approved.

  37. black says:

If I was to put amex gift cards and personal spend on this card to meet minimum spend would I be risking some kind of audit and a forfeiture of all MR points?

  38. Jack says:

Just got approved about 30 minutes ago using my other computer’s IE private browser!

  39. Kathy C says:

Too bad both hubby and I have it. I would love to get my sister in law hooked onto this card. She is a photographer and has a booming business going on. I was telling her about the Chase Ink yesterday but she didn’t have time to take it all in. Will have to sit down with her or my brother and show them. Hate for anybody to miss out on something this big.

  40. NateO says:

MP – Amex responded with the usual “Please note that all our promotions are time bound, solicited and unique. They cannot be applied manually to an account on which they were not solicited.” Oh well…

  41. Susan says:

Thanks MP – applied using your link on Chrome Wednesday; got “pending further review”. Just got Chase Sapphire Preferred last month so assumed this was a no-go – but received the approval email this morning.

Now off to set up preschool payments to meet the spend!

  42. Sil says:

Received card today and called to confirm bonus. I was told 75k with 5k spending. However, I have 6 months to complete this. Did anyone receive the same info. I thought the link used is spending within 3 months….

  43. Simona says:

got the verification phone call, approved.
Verification required due to my “fraud alert” on the credit bureaus’ file.
    Thanks MP!!!
