In case you hadn’t already heard, the third week of Daily Getaway deals has been announced.  There is one Week 3 deal in particular that I think can be a very good value.  Remember, these deals go on sale at 1PM Eastern each weekday for five weeks from June 10 – July 12th.  We are currently in the second week of deals, and you can read about those here.  As always, they are for US residents, and if you use an Amex to pay you save 10% off the prices listed via an immediate discount (discounted not reflected on the prices in this post).  Some of the deals are good, some aren’t as good.  Some will appeal to certain people, but not to others.  Most have (very) limited quantity, so there is no guarantee you will be able to buy even if you want to.

These deals are still not the Hyatt, Wyndham, or Hertz points that I know many of us are hoping for, but there are some deals hidden in there.  For example, there are many good uses of Choice Privileges points that I will get into when I do a post specifically on that deal, but one of those uses is to stay at the Comfort Suites Paradise Island in Nassau.  It is next to Atlantis and staying at the hotel gets you access to the Atlantis facilities, including swimming pools, private beach, magnificent waterscapes, lazy river, water slides, health spa, tennis, and Kids Camp. Rates at that hotel are often $250+ tax/fees each night, but it can instead be booked with 25,000 Choice points per night.  Depending on what package(s) you buy, it can be $93 each night for the requisite 25k points via these points deals.

Do you see anything you like for Week 3 of the Daily Getaways?

Comments

  1. Does the 3 Day Park to Park admission ticket to Universal Studios get you into The Wizarding World of Harry Potter as well?

  2. Am looking at buying these points and using them at Nassau resort. Is there anyway to get 100,000 points so I could stay 4 nights? I know it says max 2, but can i buy 2 40,000 points and 1 20,000 point?

  3. The universal Orlando package looks good to me, depending upon the fine print. I could get close to that price working hard on finding deals and going for off peak times (and also because i don’t personally place a high value on the tickets to Universal, despite their high face value). If the hotel is nice enough and the terms on when you can do airfare and stuff good enough, that could be a real value. Of course, we live near Chicago so flights aren’t that expensive usually, but if you lived in Seattle that the deal of the century!

  4. Another flash sale this morning for CC!
Jordan, double check this, but my understanding is that Harry Potter is included with the Islands of Adventure theme park and the Daily Getaway deal includes admission to both Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure, so it seems like a yes to me but I will research in more detail before it goes on sale.
Mike, you can buy up to 8 sets all together, so yes.
Jamie, agree! Even better if you are flying from a small airport that often charge huge fares. It really isn’t a bad deal at all.

  5. Thank you! One last question..

    The details state:

“This 2-night reward can be used at any U.S. Cambria Suites hotel with a redemption level of 20,000 points or fewer per night for the desired arrival date”

It also lists the places it can be used at.

I am assuming they just deposit the poinst in your account and you can use them any way you want? (Rather than having to specifically use them at the Cambria hotels) Can you please clarify this for me? Thank you!

      • @Jung Thanks! Was able to get 2 sets of the 40,000 and 2 sets of the 32,000 Points.

@mommy thanks for pointing this out. I was looking at going to the bahamas and this deal makes it worth it.

  6. @mike, good luck getting two sets of Choice hotel deals. Last year, I was lucky to buy one set.

@Mommy, another good use of the Choice points is that you can convert them to Southwest points and they count towards Companion Pass status.

One HUGE caveat on Choice points, they are the only hotel program that I know of where points expire based on an aging schedule. What this means is that your points expire after a certain time, regardless if you keep your account active.
