Last night I had the privilege of being a guest of Starwood Amex at the US Tennis Open in New York City.  It was my first time at a major tennis match, and both the matches and the SPG Amex hospitality event were great.  I’ll share more details about that experience soon (along with a pretty great giveaway of SPG points!), but for now I wanted to share the swag bag that I received for attending with one of you.

This collection of goodies won’t be of huge interest if you aren’t into SPG and/or tennis, but I ran into some Mommy Points readers at the match (who took advantage of deals from the SPG Amex to attend!), so I know some of you guys are very much into SPG and the US Open.  By far the coolest thing included is a US Open tennis ball that I got autographed by Monica Seles while in the SPG Amex hospitality event.  I know this might be a neat thing for a tennis fan to have, so I wanted to share.  I also got a ball autographed for Little C, so it would be greedy to keep both!

  1. […] GCT is also where a bunch of subway lines are located and that’s the quickest and cheapest way ($2.50) to get out to The U.S. Open (which takes place in Flushing Meadows, Queens, New York). I took the 7 train to Shea Stadium/Willets Point Station with my dad and travel blogger Lee Abbamonte and his guest. Lee’s a great guy and has been to every country in the world so he’s fascinating to hang out with. The other bloggers were Ben from One Mile at a Time and blogger Mommy Points. […]

  1. I have no interest in a swag bag, but I do want to congratulate you on how good you look without the usual sunglasses. Keep it up.

  2. Please enter me for a chance. I read your blog every day and though we have very different views on travel, we do share the similar views on earning points and miles.
    Keep it going.

  3. Pick me please! I’m a huge tennis fan! Even joined a tennis league over the summer! Made it to US open for the first time ever last year, couldn’t make it this year. Would love it!

  4. I took my 9 year old daughter to the Open on Friday and we had a blast. Her one disappointment was not getting a signed ball, so perhaps we’ll win one now. If not, maybe we’ll bid on one of the SPG packages next year.

  5. I’m jealous! I love playing and watching tennis, and I just applied for American Express SPG. I plan to use those SPG points next year to personally see the US Open.

  6. Love to win something this year, and wouldn’t it be great if it were from my favorite family travel blogger! MP, you’re the best!

  7. Just came back from US Open over the weekend. Great tennis and the atmosphere although didn’t catch any errand or autographed balls this time. :-) Would love to win the swag.

  8. I am a big tennis fan, love your site, and would have loved to have gone last night but it was Rosh Hashannah.Winning the prize would be a great alternative.

  9. Cool! I’ve been saving my Starpoints for a hotel stay; but after seeing your US Open experience I’m going to take a closer look at those Starwood Moments offers.

  10. Thanks for contest. Love USOpen. Went a few years ago to the ladies semis. It was great. Will have to check out spg opportunities for next year.

  11. Please pick me! I’ve been watching the US Open for years from California and have always wanted to go. At 70 years of age, my opportunities to go there are diminishing, so I would dearly love to have this swag. I’m so glad you got swag for Little C. I’m sure she’ll love it as much as my grandson will when I share it with him.
