IHG Rewards PointBreaks (5k Points Per Night) Preview List Out!

Today we have a new preview list of hotels available for 5k points per night via one of the best deals in the points world, the 5K points per night Priority Club “PointBreaks”!  While these deals are valid for stays November 1st through January 31st, you want to move quickly once they become bookable on November 1st as some properties will be gone shortly after booking opens.  You can view the full preview site here.  I have also listed the properties below, though be aware that they are thus far only sharing 10 of the 143 US properties that will be available.

As an example of how valuable this can be, the Intercontinental Resort Tahiti (shown below) is normally 40,000 IHG Reward points per night, but via this deal will be just 5,000 points per night!  If I could wiggle my nose and transport my family there I would take them up on this offer in a second.

If you don’t have 5,000 Priority Club points, you can transfer in 1:1 from Chase Ultimate Rewards.  Normally that isn’t a great idea due to how valuable UR points can be elsewhere, but in this case it can make sense since some of these hotels can be up to 40,000 – 50,000 points per night regularly.  You can also purchase them unofficially for about .7 cents each.

Comments

  1. Too bad they’re not giving the US list yet. Many of us have trips coming in early Nov and could use the preview.

    Int’l looks especially good tho.

  2. Does the booking for pointsbreak begin at 1201 am on November 1st? I have never booked at these rates before and would like the timing, please?

  3. Nic, I just copy and pasted, but perhaps it got moved in the formatting. Halloween party here today, but I’ll try to get it cleaned up soon.
Lauren, often tough to get a good date until it is almost open. The hotel websites sometimes have the date, contacting the hotel directly will sometimes work, but that hotel has had a few delays so the date was a moving target.
tassojunior, I agree, but just another day or two. 😉
Rob, seems to be the full foreign list based on what they posted.
Joe, sorry. It was a copy and paste job that may have suffered some thanks to a wonky format.
    ABC, I agree!
Mary, they seem to take longer to load than midnight. Often more like the start of the business day, but I don’t think that is set in stone.

  4. I would consider the Candlewood Suites in Harrisburg/Hershey PA. I was in the area in July when my brother graduated from war college and it is beautiful area. I want to go back and this might be the perfect opportunity. If you decide to go, check out Hollywood Casino which is right down from the Hershey factory and amusement park. It is a really nice casino with a horse track. We left there and drove to Washington and did some site seeing for a few days. It was an amazing trip that I would love to do again–this time with my husband. That hotel has good review from what I can tell. We stayed at a Homewood suites during our last trip. You can’t be 5000 per night if the hotel is nice.
