Earn Up to 23x At Neiman Marcus Through 11/7!

I wanted to quickly share that you can earn up to 23x miles/points on purchases at NeimanMarcus.com through November 7th (Thursday) via stacking two promotions.  The first is a limited time offer via AAdvantage Shopping that pays out at 18x American Airlines miles though 11/7, and then if you use your Chase Freedom to pay for the purchases, you will earn an additional 5x as Neiman Marcus is considered a department store that pays out at 5x this quarter (up to $1,500 max).  Check out this post for full details on the Freedom 5x bonus categories.

Neiman Marcus carries a bunch of goods that are out of my price range, but they do carry more everyday items Tom’s Shoes, which are pretty popular as casual shoes in my family, as well as basics like make-up.  We may also look for a special holiday outfit that we’ve been meaning to buy.  As always, don’t buy stuff you wouldn’t normally buy at some point, but it can make sense to time purchases with big portal payouts.  I have no experience trying to “double dip” with gift cards Neiman Marcus, but feel free to share if you do!

Expect my regular monthly full rundown of current portal payouts tomorrow, but I wanted to share this one early as it is a pretty high payout!

  1. I always keep a list of things I need to buy online (to combine them and get free shipping when possible). A list helps with promotions like these so when they come out you don’t have to scramble to figure out what you “need” to buy at that point.

  2. I believe that many people have outstanding US Airways credit card offers that also are doing 5x on department stores this quarter. Don’t forget that all the 5x offers have fairly low maximum amounts they’ll pay out on ($1500 for the Freedom, $500 for my US Airways offer), so you may want to make separate purchases with different cards.

  3. FTG, smart!
Adriano, not a bad option. I’d rather UR points (that could also be used as cash), but if you don’t have the Freedom then good to have an alternative.
    LarryinNYC, indeed!
Kathy, you are most welcome. It is November already, so perfect time to get some holiday shopping done.

  4. Tumi usually has the same listed prices everywhere on the latest items. I already got what I wanted with the eBags sale. But this could be a good time to purchase what you wanted. (not cheap but worth it if you can’t wait for a discount) In addition NM has 50$ off 200$+ and should be valid for AAdv since it is listed on the website -not sure if it excludes Tumi or other products. But that would put the icing on the cake. If you are a daredevil you could sell some of these on ebay…

  5. Another huge Aadvantage bonus! I started my hobby in August and between FTD (wedding gift), ebags, North Face (kid gear) and this I’ve earned about 60,000 points. I thought Chase points would be so much easier to earn but so far Aadvantage mall has been blowing it away. Is this stream of bonuses normal??

Thank you for being totally on top of this. Great blog.
