A few quick rewards credit card updates to round out your Friday afternoon.

  • The Hyatt Credit Card sent out emails yesterday to some Diamond members (though not me!) offering lifetime Diamond status as long as they had the co-branded Chase Hyatt credit card if they applied via that solicitation.  I saw some buzz about this yesterday, but didn’t post as it wasn’t immediately clear if it was a photoshop situation, an error, or a %$#%# of a deal.  Turns out it was option B, an error.  I would have applied in a heartbeat if they sent me that offer, but turns out it wasn’t supposed to exist at all.  Some folks who were accidentally targeted and pulled the trigger might wind up with the deal of a lifetime….or not.  I have no clue how they will handle this, but it will be interesting to find out!
  • Make sure to check the American Express “offers for you” tab on your Amex accounts as there are lots of great promos popping up these days.  Some on my card include:

  1. I have really started to follow these statement credit deals closely. Most of them seem to allow the purchase of gift cards to count. I wonder if the manager at my local Bonefish Grill thought it was funny that I paid for my two $25 gift cards with 2 different AMEX?! I shop Sprouts pretty regularly, but last time, I only need $20 of groceries–so I bought a gift card to make up the difference to $50. Thanks for all your insight, MP. You’re helpful even to a retired couple with no kids at home!

  2. I just got a AmEx Starwood Preferred Guest 2 weeks ago and just checked “My Offer” tab and see nothing. I registered for the small business Sat. and got a confirmation. But don’t see anything under “my save” tab. I am very new to all this,so do all these offer apply to my card? Or I missed the enroll aready? Thanks.Find your info very helpful.
