Pack Your Chase Sapphire Preferred for First Fridays 3x Tomorrow

Please note this site has financial relationships with American Express and this post may contain affiliate links. Read my Advertiser Disclosure policy here to learn more about my partners.

Tomorrow is the first Friday of February which means you earn a little extra on your dining charges put on your Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card.  Normally dining charges put on the Sapphire Preferred (even those at a fast food restaurant) will earn you 2x Ultimate Reward points, but on First Fridays you get 3x on all dining charges!  That means pack your Sapphire Preferred in your wallet tomorrow so you have it when you go grab lunch, drinks at happy hour, or a dinner out.  Every little bit helps!

First Friday Dining

Just don’t use it at Starbucks for your morning coffee, because the Chase Freedom® is currently paying out at 5x Ultimate Reward points there for the first quarter of 2014!

1,500 Bonus Miles from MileagePlus Dining:

While we are on the subject of eating your way to some easy points and miles, if you are new to United MileagePlus Dining, you can earn 1,500 United miles for joining and completing your first dine at a participating restaurant for $30 or more in the first 30 days of membership.  You also have to complete a quick review that will be emailed to you.

MileagePlus Dining

Finding a participating restaurant for MileagePlus Dining is easier in some locations than others, but I’d go a little out of my way to get 1,500 United miles for a meal I needed to eat anyway.  Heck, do it tomorrow on your Sapphire Preferred and get 3x Ultimate Rewards in the process!

  1. Hate to say it but this is small potatoes. Even someone who does $100 on the first Friday is only earning 1200 points per year. Not sure it merits a blog post.

    • Clark, totally small potatoes for most, but (hopefully) still a good reminder to not leave some points on the table (pardon the pun). 😉
