Yesterday I got an email that Amex had launched AmexOffers.com, which they describe as “a one-stop hub for Card Members and their families to get special merchant offers from brands like BP, Crate & Barrel, Lowe’s, PetSmart, and Zappos so they can save when they spend.”
I was really excited at the idea of all the sync-like offers being easily accessible in one place, so I was anxious to check it out and see what they put together. If you aren’t familiar with the personalized Amex offers, they typically include a statement credit on your registered Amex if you register for a specific offer and hit the spending requirement for that offer. My favorite one last year was $25 statement credit if you spend $75 or more at Amazon.com, but there have been lots of different deals available. Some are better than others, but if you happen to need to shop at one of the available retailers, it is a pretty easy and painless way to save some money! The hardest part is just keeping up with all the offers that are out there.
The new site gives you the option to see available offers by either choosing to:
A. Log in with your account info OR
B. Connect via social media options including Twitter, Facebook, FourSquare, or TripAdvisor
After trying out some of the options, it seems that this new site does a good job at putting all of the options for accessing offers together in one spot, but it does not just list all of the available deals for your account in one spot on the site. I logged into my account from the Amex Offers page and I had a few offers listed, but to get the full listing I still had to also poke around on some of the different social media sites like Twitter.
To give you an idea on how these deals work, some of the current offers include:
BP Spend $30, Get $5
Crate & Barrel Spend $50, Get $10
Lowes Spend $50, Get $10
PetSmart Spend $25, Get $5
Zappos Spend $150, Get $30
Carter’s Spend $25, Get $5
I think this new site is a step in the right direction to help those who may not live on miles, points, and deals blogs see what deals are out there, but for the full picture of available Amex deals you still have to do a little digging.
