Hilton HHonors points are relatively easy to rack up from a number of rewards credit cards, one of which is the Citi HHonors Visa Signature Card.  This particular card comes with no annual fee, so it can be an easy one for some to hold onto.  For two more days until April 18, 2014, (according to the terms in the ad) it has an increased sign-up offer.  Hilton has some family friendly Hilton properties that weren’t impacted by the big award chart changes last year, and some even got less expensive on points.  They have announced very few hotels going up in category this year (at least so far) with no big changes to categories.  Bottom line is Hilton HHonors points aren’t always useful for the same things they were a year ago (like luxury redemptions), but they are still a good tool to consider when looking for family vacations on points.

(Offer Expired)  Citi® Hilton HHonorsTM Visa Signature® Card – LIMITED TIME OFFER:  50,000 points after spending $1,000 in the first four months + $50 statement credit after you spend $50 or more on your first hotel stay within the Hilton HHonors Portfolio during the first six months of cardmembership

This card provides HHonors Silver status and a fast track to HHonors Gold status if you have four stays in the first 90 days of card membership.  However, I think it is the sign-up bonus points and statement credit that would be most interesting to the majority of folks.

As I mentioned, there are many other Hilton cards issued by both Citi and American Express for you to choose from, with the Citi® Hilton HHonors Reserve Card typically coming out on top by my calculations as it awards two weekend night certificates after $2,500 in eligible purchases within 4 months of account opening, and awards Gold status for the life of card membership.  However, if you are looking for points you can use any day of the week, then that sign-up bonus of two weekend nights won’t be of much help.  The highest Hilton sign-up bonus currently in terms of points is via the Hilton HHonors Surpass Card from American Express, though that card does come with an annual fee that is not waived the first year.

Might be useful to point out that the standard offer for this card is 40,000 points (which is also the case with the fee-free Amex HHonors card), so the 10K differential may or may not be worth rushing to get this promo.

I currently have a HH Amex. Will I still be entitled to the HH Visa Citi card bonus ? Thx Mp

Dan, yes. They are issued by different banks and are different products, so no problem getting the bonus for both.
