*The Citi Hilton HHonors Limited Time Offer has expired.
The Citi® Hilton HHonorsTM Reserve Card – LIMITED TIME OFFER awards two free weekend nights at the Hilton family hotels after you spend $2,500 on purchases in the first four months. That has been the basic sign-up offer for the card since it came out a couple of years ago. It’s generally regarded the best Hilton credit card sign-up bonus of all the Hilton cards, assuming you are good using your free nights on a Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night.
In recent times they have sweetened the pot with a $100 statement credit after you spend $100 or more on your first Hilton stay in the first three months of account opening – presumably anything you charge to the room that totals $100 should count. This is now advertized as a “limited time offer”. The card also comes with HHonors Gold status, which can be helpful for potential lounge access, breakfast for two at some hotel types, etc. There is a $95 annual fee for the card.
It’s a good offer for sure if you have a Hilton stay in the next year (even better if you have one in the next 3 months to use the $100 statement credit). However, the big question I have wondered since the card came out was exactly which hotels were excluded from the weekend night certificates. The language wasn’t always 100% clear, and I didn’t ever have a completely clear answer until today when I noticed a link to a list of excluded properties in the offer terms and conditions.
It seems that most of the 36 excluded properties are either all-inclusive properties or some vacation club/suites type properties, however a few other popular options are also on the list.

DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Hotel Central Pacific -Costa Rica
Hilton Bodrum Turkbuku Resort & Spa
Hilton Dalaman Sarigerme Resort & Spa

It’s a bummer to see family friendly Hawaii options like the Embassy Suites Waikiki Beach Walk on the list, but honestly there are still tons of eligible Hawaii properties such as Grand Wailea a Waldorf Astoria Resort and the Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. There are also tons of other eligible (and normally pricey) hotels around the world that you could use the weekend nights at including Conrad Maldives, DoubleTree Suites New York Times Square, the Waldorf Hilton London, Hilton Whistler Resort & Spa, and more. Of course a standard hotel room has to be available for sale in order to redeem your certificates, regardless of the hotel selected.
While I wish the excluded properties list was a bit shorter, it is so nice to finally know for sure which properties are eligible and which are not. This should help you know for sure whether this card is a good one to get when planning a vacation that includes a Hilton stay!
