One of my favorite hotel booking sites recently has been Travel Pony. They have sometimes had rates much better than I was able to access on other sites – including directly from the hotel! I have had no issues with the stays I have booked through them (two completed and two more future stays already booked). I’ve also cancelled some stays that were refundable with no issues, so all in all I have no complaints!
Today they are again making their often very low prices 10% lower to the first 1,000 who take advantage of their code FLASHPONY at checkout! They seem to do these offers every few weeks, but they never last long when they come around.
This used to stack with the $35 off they give new customers who are referred by a current member on reservations of $200 or more, but in trying to get my dad’s account set-up a couple weeks ago it doesn’t seem to stack unless you joined before the rules changed and just haven’t used your credit yet. However, you can still stack the 10% off code with using referral credits you have earned via referring your friends and family members. That is my referral link above, you can feel free to leave your own referral code in the comments.
The downsides to TravelPony are that you can only book eight months out (though that’s not really a big deal), they have a limited number of hotel options in a limited number of cities, and you likely won’t get hotel points/stay credit due to booking via a third party site. I did get credit on a Fairmont stay but not on a Holiday Inn Express stay. I provided my rewards numbers to both, but it (rightfully) posted as a non-eligible stay with IHG. The amount I saved on the bookings made it worth it, but it is something to factor in if the price difference is minimal, or if you really need the stay to go toward elite status.
Their limited footprint isn’t super limited as I have booked hotels in small towns, but they aren’t going to have all the hotel options that a site like Travelocity will. I have made many of my TravelPony reservations with these 10% off codes, and encourage you to take a look as well! Have you found some hotel savings on Travel Pony?
