Buy or No Buy:

The three properties with the more expensive packages are the ones I would personally want to stay in, but no doubt those are expensive packages all north of $1,000 each.  However, when I get the chance, I like to do Vegas by eating well, heading to the spa, staying in a great room/suite, and seeing a good show.  Assuming you aren’t a big time gambler and aren’t getting those things comped, they add up, and this could be a way to bundle the prices into one lower amount.  We had our honeymoon at the SkyLOFTS, and I would love another chance to stay there.  The price per night is virtually never below $750/night these days (much less when we stayed there in 2008), so getting two nights for $1390 plus spa treatments, $600 in dining credit, etc. is a good deal relative to just booking the nights the regular way, but I recognize that is not a deal that will be interesting to everyone.

I think the Bellagio package is also pretty interesting as I have been wanting to see O for ages and the prices for the tickets are always pretty high.  Getting two O VIP tickets, two nights in a suite, up to $500 at the spa, $400 for dinner, etc. all thrown in isn’t too bad.  I have done a similar package at The Mirage and found that even though it said “dinner for two” it was really just a max credit that was taken off the bill at check out.  So, if you have friends in town you can potentially all enjoy the credit for dinner, up to the max.  No guarantees it works that way still, but that was my experience.

There are so few of these packages, so even if you want to buy it will be far from a guarantee.  Truthfully I wish I could buy one at one of the nicer three properties (Lord, not Circus Circus), but the price is just a little high for the ones I want, and I don’t think I can sneak another Vegas trip in by the expiration dates.  I do think there are some situations where these packages can be a decent overall value, but only if you would have paid for many of the included elements anyway and can’t find a better deal via Fine Hotel and Resort bookings or similar.

Packages go on sale at 1PM Eastern sharp at Daily Getaways website.

Today (Wednesday June 4th) the Daily Getaway Deals brings us Hyatt Gold Passport points for less that one cent each for sale. I did a summary of the third week of deals here, and while I haven’t been posting a reminder before every single deal the way I have in years past, I do plan to post reminders the night before (or sometimes morning of) some of the deals that might be of more interest to the miles and points community than others.  This is one of those very interesting deals for miles and points fans!  Most who are fans of Hyatt Gold Passport value their points at least 50% more than these prices, and given the very limited quantities, they will go in a second…literally.

    Circus Circus? hahahahahahahahahahaha.
The others are actually pretty competitive.
Is alcohol/wine included in meal prices?
if so, these aren’t bad for someone who likes the full Vegas deal.
The SkyLoft deal is especially good.

Geoff, totally agree about Circus Circus. I cringe when I hear about Vegas newbs booking there without really know what they are doing. Alcohol is eligible for the meal totals, so I agree not bad for someone that was going “all in” on Vegas. I WISH I could justify getting the SkyLoft deal.

  2. […] Vegas Packages:  Did anyone get in on these Vegas packages from Daily Getaway Deals? With the $20 Vegas trick, I can’t see anyone paying for these packages unless they value the […]

The fact that Circus Circus has a resort fee has me cracking up.

Jeanne, right?! It was the only one of the bunch that didn’t waive the resort fee via these deals!
