August is typically not a very busy time for hotel promotions as summer travel is still going strong as families sneak in one more trip before the little ones go back to school. However, it is also the time that the few promos that did occur over the summer are wrapping up, and the ones for the lighter fall travel season are being announced. We likely do not yet know about all of the fall hotel promotions, but since it has been a while since I posted an update on some global hotel promos I thought I would share some info about the promos that are still available for the summer or already available for the fall. Remember you can always find this info on my Hotel Promos Page.

Look Ahead to Fall Promos:
If you are wondering what type of hotel promos we saw in Fall 2013, then here is a flashback to what Hyatt and SPG offered last year. The SPG promo had already been announced at this point last year, and the Hyatt promo came out just a few weeks later, so hopefully we will learn what else these hotel reward programs have in store in the very near future.
Hyatt Fall 2013 Promo: September 9, 2013 – November 30, 2013 you can earn 5,000 Hyatt Gold Passport bonus points after your first five nights, then more for every additional five nights. After 20 nights, that’s 50,000 bonus points!
SPG Fall 2013 Promo: Earn double Starpoints® on all eligible stays from September 1, 2013 through December 15, 2013 — with no limits. Plus, you’ll get 2,500 bonus Starpoints for every five eligible nights you stay — up to 10,000 bonus Starpoints and 20 nights.
