This isn’t the deal of the century, but it is a deal that doesn’t come along frequently.  For the next hour or so you can buy United miles at 1.88 cents each as they hit their threshold of 4,501 purchases to trigger the 100% buy miles bonus.  This is not the only buy miles promo going on right now, but it was a bit of a surprise to me that they sold enough miles to trigger the 100% bonus!

United Miles Promo

This deal is scheduled to expire at 12AM Central tonight so not much time to decide, so if this is interesting to you then get to buying before the clock strikes midnight and the price goes up.

  1. Don’t know that I’m going to partake, given their recent devaluation in award redemption for their international partner premium cabins, but I really appreciate the heads-up! Thank you!

  2. Would have last year but I’ll stick with Aeroplan with 45K miles one-way/business to Europe on partners like LX and LH … which would be 70K on UA. Incredible difference.

  3. Thank you sooooo much for this! I was just about to go to bed and read your post! I’m roughly 10k UA mileageplus points short of redeeming a trip for fall 2015. When I first heard of the promo, 35% bonus didn’t really persuade me. Now that it’s 100%, I just bit the bullet and bought 5000 miles (to get 10K total.)

Thank you! I wouldn’t have bought ’em otherwise.

  4. Bought enough at 100% to top off at 70K for a Star Alliance J class one way Europe vice flying underwhelming United at 57.5K. After that I’ll zero out and bid farewell to MP as devaluation is too great and the FF mile programs good times are all but gone. Even LifeMiles will devalue Oct. 15.

  5. I didn’t see this last night before I went to bed. Don’t know if I would have done it or not but I really hate when I miss out on a change to decide. I was tired and went to bed early. Guess it wasn’t meant to be, right? LOL!
