An Anniversary Built for Three

Today we are celebrating our sixth wedding anniversary with a late summer trip to Colorado.  We recently won two nights at the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek as part of a photo contest they had on their Facebook pagealways enter those things!  This weekend was the perfect time for us to cash in on those free nights since it allowed us to visit somewhere we love on our anniversary, but it also wouldn’t cost much at all on points or cash thanks to the contest win and low fares into Denver.

The only catch was that we didn’t want to leave our kiddo behind since she loves Colorado, and we have a work trip away from her coming up in a couple of weeks.   We don’t like to be gone from her too often, and we also don’t like to overburden grandparents with frequent babysitting.  So, we brought her along and created an anniversary built for three.

I think by six years in, you have learned how to multitask so to speak.  In other words, don’t let anything stop you from taking advantage of celebrating special occasions the way you love at places you love.

We sprinkled reminiscing by the fire pit about six years with daytime pony rides.

When we toasted six years at dinner, we got to do so with three glasses.

When we went to the hot tub after sunset, our little traveler dove right in.

When we gave each other a big hug, there are six arms wrapped around each other.

6 years. 3 people. 1 great day.

Don’t get me wrong, sometimes we enjoy trips away with just the two of us, but on this night an anniversary built for three couldn’t have been better.

  1. Cute, happy and sweet post. Congratulations.
As I was looking at the photo of Little C on the horse, I decided that the required safety helmets should at least be in the shape and style of a cowboy hat. Just sayin’, padnuh.
Anyways, happy days, happy trails and happy contrails.

  2. Happy Anniversary!!! 🙂
You’re being a great role model for your daughter by showing her what a stable, loving relationship should be! Anniversaries don’t just celebrate two people finding each other; they also celebrate the family that they created together!!! Congratulations! 🙂
