Starwood Preferred Guest has announced a fall promo.  I repeat, Starwood has announced a fall promo.  This one will potentially pay out double or triple points, depending on your type of stay.

They are calling this one “More For You”.  I like more when it comes to points, so sounds promising to me.

Fall 2014 SPG Promo

From September 15th – December 15th you will earn:

  • Double Starpoints on stays of two or more eligible nights
  • Triple Starpoints on eligible stays of two or more nights that include a Friday or Saturday night (Thursday or Friday night in the Middle East)

Double points means that you earn a total of 4x SPG points per dollar spent.  Triple points means that you earn 6x SPG points per dollar spent.  Elite bonuses are not doubled or tripled but instead are added on top of that 4x or 6x, if applicable.  Also keep in mind that Free Night Awards and Cash & Points awards do not count as qualifying stays for this promotion. Even if part of the stay is reserved using an award and part is paid, the terms say you will not receive bonus SPG points for any part of the stay.

You do have to register by October 31, 2014, so get that out of the way right now.  There are unfortunately a medium sized list of non-participating properties.

I’m glad there is a global SPG promo even though it won’t help us much since we are hotel hopping pretty much each night to rack up SPG stay credits.  Hopefully some of you with stays longer than one night will earn some extra valuable SPG points!

Reminder: While we are on the topic of SPG, remember you can enter to win their current online giveaway of points, free nights, and more twice daily!

  1. Thanks for the note. My hotel stays are usually over the weekend to I’ll see if I can take advantage of the triple points offer.
