JetBlue has just extended their schedule through June 17, 2015, and lowered the lowest price of redemptions to 3,500 points – down from a previous 5,000 minimum. That’s good news for those inexpensive reward flights!
This means you can now lock in those spring and early summer vacations and potentially spend fewer points than before. As a quick example, here is a flight from JFK – Washington Dulles for 4,400 points + $5.60 in taxes. Previously that flight would have been a minimum of 5,000 points. If you are curious, that flight is currently selling for $73. That means you are getting a little over 1.5 cents per point in value for the flight. With JetBlue the value you get per point varies somewhat depending on the exact flight you select.
Also remember that the 25% transfer bonus from American Express Membership Rewards to JetBlue ends tomorrow (September 15th). The transfer bonus makes JetBlue temporarily a 1:1 transfer partner from Membership Rewards.
