This offer has ended.
There has been some question about when the limited time 70,000 point Ink Plus sign-up bonus would end. The ability to refer friends to the offer ended on October 10th, but we now know that you can still sign-up for the offer until this Sunday October 19th and get in on the largest sign-up bonus we have ever seen for this card.
Ink Plus® Business Card: Limited Time 70,000 Ultimate Reward Points after spending $5,000 in the first three months, $95 annual fee
The regular offer for the Ink Plus has been 50,000 Ultimate Reward points after spending $5,000 in the first three months. We have seen a limited time 60,000 point offer during Small Business Week earlier this year, but to my knowledge we have never before seen a 70,000 point offer available online.
70,000 Points Worth at Least $875:
You can not only use Ultimate Reward points at a rate of 1.25 cents each toward travel for a minimum of $875 in value from this sign-up bonus, but you can transfer them 1:1 to a number of hotel and airline partners to potential get even more value. I featured ten fun ways to use 75,000 Ultimate Reward points in this post, but here are a few Ultimate Rewards basics.
Ultimate Rewards Transfer Partners:
United, Hyatt, British Airways, Southwest, Marriott, IHG Rewards, Singapore KrisFlyer, Korean Air Skypass, Ritz Carlton, Virgin Atlantic
70,000 points can do a lot for you via transfers to many of those programs. For starters, you can get three 25,000 domestic round trip saver tickets on United once you hit the 5,000 point spending requirement, or five nights at Category 4 Hyatts such as the Grand Hyatt Baha Mar in the Bahamas, or close to $1,000 in Southwest Wanna Get Away fares!
Earning 5x Points:
While the 70,000 sign-up points are clearly a massive attraction for this card, the reality is the Ink Plus is also one of the very best ongoing earning cards out there. It earns 5X points per $1 on the first $50,000 spent annually at office supply stores, and on cellular phone, landline, internet, and cable TV services and 2X points per $1 on the first $50,000 spent annually at gas stations and for hotel accommodations purchased directly with the hotel.
I have my cell phone, internet, cable, landline, etc. all auto-billed monthly to my Ink cards and that is a very easy way to rack up lots of 5x points.
Small Business Card:
The Ink Plus is a small business card so you do need a small business in order to apply. This does not mean you need a brick and mortar store, employees, or even an EIN. You can apply as a sole proprietor using your SSN and without an EIN if needed. If you have a small photography business, child care business, resell business, blog etc. you may qualify for a small business card. There are no guarantees, but don’t discount a small business you run just because it is small.
There are only a few days left before the October 19th deadline for the Ink Plus® Business Card, but I am glad we at least have official notice of when the offer will end so you can plan accordingly and not accidentally miss out on one of the biggest sign-up bonuses of the year.
