United: Houston – Los Angeles $130 Round Trip

Cheap nonstop fares on United out of Houston aren’t super common since we are basically “hub captives” here, and United knows that we will often pay more for the convenience of getting from A-B as quickly as possible.

Well, I was looking around on United.com today and noticed that you can fly Houston – Los Angeles for as low as roughly $130 round trip…even on same-day turns (in case you were in the market for an end of the year mileage run).  I even saw limited Saturday same-day turn availability for those who need to partake in crazy mileage-running antics on the weekend.  It comes to about 4.5 cents per mile for you mileage running crazies, and for everyone else it can be a very affordable way to get to LA for a real vacation!

You can easily spot the available dates by using the “flexible date search” on United.com.  This can even be booked as two one-ways which can be handy if you like to earn $5 per ticket via the United.com club.  I doubt it will last long as dates are disappearing as I type, so enjoy while it lasts!

  1. You know what I hate. I hate that you have those annoying video ads on your site. I think it’s new, although I don’t normally allow flash to run, but nonetheless it takes up space and it’s ugly. I visit this site to see about points and miles, NOT to listen to obnoxious political attack ads.

It’s your site, but the more of this nonsense you ad to it, the less I’ll visit.

    • Rob, I didn’t know there were video ads as that has never come up for me. That does sound super annoying! Let me chat with BoardingArea and see what can be done.

      • Thanks, Summer.

I just did some more browsing around boardingarea and didn’t see any there. Then came back to mommypoints and that ad was gone.

I suspect they are pushing video ads “occasionally”. For some reason I had the idea that it was your decision (pre-coffee web browsing) and was mildly annoyed at you. My apologies!

But if you can do anything to kill video ads, that would be awesome. 🙂
