Today is the first Friday of January which means you earn a little extra on your dining charges put on your Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card since “First Fridays” were officially extended through 2015.  Normally dining charges put on the Sapphire Preferred (even those at a fast food restaurant) will earn you 2x Ultimate Reward points, but on First Fridays you get 3x on all dining charges!  That means be sure to reach for the Sapphire Preferred when you grab lunch, drinks at happy hour, or a dinner out tonight if you want to earn 3x points.  Every little bit helps!

Just don’t use it at Starbucks for your coffee, because the Chase Freedom® is currently paying out at 5x points there for the first quarter of 2015!
