I’ve been lucky enough to do some work with other great publications and sites outside of just this blog from time to time over the last four years.  One of the great companies I have worked with several times is Travel Channel.  My Samantha Brown-loving-self would have fallen over and died if someone told me I would also do some work with the Travel Channel back when I was watching Passport to Europe over ten years ago!

Of course I don’t have an actual show on the Travel Channel or anything fancy like that, but I have written articles for both their blog and website, as well as completed a couple of rounds of online videos for them about travel deals and related topics.  If you have free time, you can skim through my older Travel Channel videos and articles here.

Travel Channel Mommy Points

A couple of months ago we filmed our newest round of videos together, but this time we did them with destination specific money saving tips.  It was so much fun because they came to my house to film, and my daughter was even able to get in on the filming action with costumes and signs!  Like our travel itself, sharing travel tips is really a family affair for us, so it was great to see that reflected in the new videos.

Skiing for Less

The first two new videos that we did are now up on the Travel Channel website and I hope you can check them out.  I really like all the cool animation and editing they added this time around, but would love to hear your thoughts!

While you are at it, poke around and see what else that have available.  You will find a very wide variety of videos and articles from “Best Nude Beaches” to “Best Baseball Cities” to “The Key to Hiking in Hawaii”.  See, I told you it was varied!

  1. Cute videos! BTW I wanted to say thanks. I’ve been reading your site for about a year now and recently put your good advice to use on a trip to Hawaii (Oahu and Kauai) with my husband and 5-year-old son. We stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village for three nights, St. Regis Princeville for two nights, and Grand Hyatt Kauai for two nights – all on points! We had a great time, and I can’t wait to plan more points-fueled trips. Thanks again!

    • Amy, so awesome that you guys had such an amazing points-fueled trip to one of my favorite spots! Here’s to many more…

      • Thanks! The next goal is Legoland California + Legoland Hotel. If you or anyone else in the community has advice, let me know.
