It’s almost time for a brand new IHG Rewards Club PointBreaks list!  That is exciting (at least to me) because it means new opportunities to stay at hotels around the world for just 5,000 IHG points per night instead of the regular points prices that can go as high as 50,000 points per night.

PointBreaksThe next round of PointBreaks will be posted on Tuesday May 26th for bookings and stays from May 26 – July 31, 2015.  A preview list will be up tomorrow (Friday) on the IHG Blog and shared here as well.  The link to their blog post won’t be active until tomorrow.

There reportedly will be close to 150 properties participating on this PointBreaks list and IHG shared a very small sampling of seven of those properties with me today.  They include:

  • InterContinental® hotel Nha Trang, Vietnam
  • Crowne Plaza® hotel New Delhi Mayur Vihar Noida, India
  • Holiday Inn® hotel Andorra, Europe
  • Holiday Inn® hotel Cordoba, Argentina
  • Holiday Inn Express® hotel Frankfurt-Messe, Germany, Europe
  • Staybridge Suites® hotel Tallahassee I-10 East, Florida, United States
  • Candlewood Suites® hotel Washington-Fairfax, Virginia, United States

Even though you can’t book or fully plan out your IHG PointBreaks stays quite yet I shared this info so you can mark you calendars and be ready to potentially lock in some very good deals on summer travel.  I’ll be sure to share the full preview list tomorrow when it is up and available.

  1. If I sign up for this card now, spend the $1,000, will I be able to use the points or free stay within two months?

    • DebbeG, if you hit the minimum spending requirement quickly I think it is realistic to think you can use the points for a stay within two months…if the property you want has award availability.
