Oh Spirit Airlines, you are never boring.  They are currently giving away 1,500 free miles if you take three quizzes and get all the answers correct.  The whole process should take you less than 10 minutes and 1,500 miles isn’t bad – especially if you can add it to the 8,000 “Hate Miles” that are still available.  Spirit Airlines award flights start at 2,500 miles each way for their cardholders and 10,000 miles each way for non-Spirit Airlines card holders.

These three quizzes are themed after their “Bare Fares”, and as a result the “tutors” in the quizzes take most of their clothes off as the quiz goes on.  Don’t get too excited it stays in the PG-ish range, but it certainly isn’t the type of thing you would see from some of the other major airlines in the US!

Free Spirit Airlines Miles

Each quiz has five questions and you can probably get them all right without my help, but just in case, here were the answers…

The Dude

  • Unbundled fare
  • WiFi or reclining seats
  • People who want more space or legroom
  • Personal Item
  • $9 Fare Club

The Bear

  • Unbundled base fare
  • Personal item
  • Adds more seats to planes
  • No free drinks
  • Print your boarding pass at home or a self-service kiosk

The Babe

  • Carry-on bag or checked bag
  • Upgrade to the big front seat
  • Fuel efficient
  • Money
  • May change your plans

After each quiz you will get a certificate number that you can then deposit online in your Spirit Airlines account.  The miles will instantly post so you can use them as you wish – just don’t wait too long Spirit as once deposited the miles are good for 90 days.

  1. Thanks for the heads up. I really don’t mind flying Spirit occasionally as they fly many convenient routes for me, but I finally reached 10k miles and went to look up a flight I needed to take and it cost 10k miles + $105.60 (as opposed to $119 in cash). So, yeah…any tips on how to squeeze even a tiny bit of value out of these?

    • Matt, just a guess, but I’m betting you were booking “close in”. Book far in advance to avoid most of that. Book at the airport to save even a few bucks more (if you happen to be at the airport anyway – not worth a special trip in most cases).

  2. At least the bear could have been like Yogi and taken off a hat, collar and tie. I felt a little sleazy when the ‘Dude’ was baring it.

  3. Are you sure about that last sentence – “The miles will instantly post so you can use them as you wish – just don’t wait too long Spirit (sic) as once deposited the miles are good for 90 days.”? I think the miles will remain valid as long as the account has some kind of activity at least once every 90 days.

  4. I took the quizzes, and it asked me for my spirit number, but the page didn’t show any certificate numbers, and my miles in my account is still 0. What should I do?

    • Alex, it did the same thing to me. I opened another window, registered for a Spirit account, then entered that number.

      • I completed the tests. I have a Spirit number already and still no miles deposited. You say that in order to get the miles another Spirit account needs to be opened?

  5. I completed all three quizzes. Got three certificates and signed in with my Spirit free account number. Yet no miles. What’s the process to get the miles added to my account?

  6. Thanks for the heads up! I’ve been wanting to cancel my spirit card but wanted to use all my miles first =) I only got 2 codes =( but I did all of the tests, any ideas?
