The new “Make it Count” SPG summer promo that we knew was coming has now arrived and is open for registration.  It’s not a blockbuster promo, but that is pretty normal for the busy summer travel season.

This promo awards 1,000 bonus SPG points if you have an eligible stay of two nights or longer that includes an eligible weekend night at a participating hotel or resort.  Weekend nights are defined as Friday, Saturday, or Sunday night (except in some Middle East locations as indicated in the terms below).  The promo runs from June 1 – August 31, 2015.

SPG Summer 2015 Promo

You must register for this promotion by August 15th, so I highly recommend doing that now so you can’t forget later.  As always, this and other current major hotel promos are listed on my Hotel Promo Page for easy reference.

Here are a few things to note about the promo:

  • All properties are participating
  • Free Night Awards and Cash & Points do not count as qualifying stays for this promotion.
  • Stays booked via a third party site don’t count toward the promo (Orbitz, Travelocity, etc.)

While we are on the topic of bonus SPG points, if you want to learn about the new lower spending requirement for the Amex SPG credit card, then check out this post.

Terms and Conditions:

Registration: SPG® members must register online at spg.com/makeitcount by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (ET) on August 15, 2015. Registered members can earn bonus Starpoints® for every eligible stay between June 1, 2015, and August 31, 2015 (the “Promotion Period”) at participating Starwood hotels and resorts.

Earning: Registered members, paying an eligible rate on a stay of two or more consecutive nights that includes an eligible weekend night at a participating hotel or resort, will earn 1,000 Starpoints with no limit on earning. An eligible weekend night is a Friday, Saturday or Sunday night, except in the following Middle East locations where an eligible weekend night is a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night: Jordan: Amman; Bahrain: Bahrain; Kuwait: Kuwait City; Lebanon: Beirut; Saudi Arabia: Al Khobar, Dammam, Jeddah, Makkah, Medina and Riyadh; Qatar: Doha; United Arab Emirates: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai and Fujairah. Offer is eligible with other Starpoints promotions; however, each offer will award bonus Starpoints independently of each other, and offers are not combinable.

Bonusing: Bonus Starpoints will post to the registered member’s account within 2–4 weeks after the qualifying stay posts.

Eligible Stays: An Eligible Stay is defined as two or more consecutive nights paying an Eligible Rate in the same hotel regardless of the number of check-ins or checkouts that occur and post to the member’s Starwood Preferred Guest® account. Eligible Stays with at least two nights in the earning period that include a weekend night will receive a bonus. An Eligible Rate is any rate that is eligible to earn Starpoints in the Starwood Preferred Guest program. A description of SPG-participating hotels and resorts and of Eligible Stays and Eligible Rates can be found at spg.com under Terms & Conditions of the SPG Program. See Section 1.4 b iii for the complete definition of Eligible Rates. Note that certain room reservations — e.g., when the booking is made through a third party, including but not limited to travelocity.com, expedia.com, orbitz.com and delta.com — are not considered Eligible Rates and do not earn Starpoints or qualify for promotional earnings.
