Limited Time: Fly to Europe From 21,000 Miles Each Way!

Yesterday I saw several reports of Delta elites and Delta co-branded credit card holders having access to reduced mileage awards to Europe.  I wasn’t able to dig into that myself until now, and it seems that today anyone can access the reduced mileage awards!  The reduced prices start at just 21,000 miles each way to Europe in economy and 43,500 miles each way in business class on many routes from the middle of the country and east.

Those in the western United States have higher reduced rates starting at 50,000 miles each way for business class and 24,000 each way in economy.  The normal prices start at 62,500 miles each way in business class and 30,000 miles each way in economy.

I saw availability at the reduced rates on certain dates from October – February on a variety of routes.  Being able to fly to Europe and back in business class from a city like Houston for just 87,000 miles round trip with no fuel surcharges is pretty great.  Yes, we all love to bash Delta Skymiles from time to time but this is a solid deal if the availability lines up with when you want to travel.

If you don’t have enough Delta miles to book the trip you want, remember you can transfer miles in 1:1 from Amex Membership Rewards card like the   Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express.

Anyone taking advantage and booking a reduced mileage award to Europe with their Skymiles?

  1. Any idea how long the deal is for? I’m about 4,000 miles short for business class (been using my Delta miles like crazy this year), and I’d love to deplete my (useless) Hilton points for this. Also, I am traveling to Portland next week from Detroit, which will yield me more than enough, but I don’t know if the deal will be around by next Sunday, and I have no idea how long the Hilton transfer would take, either.

  2. Thanks for this tip, I just booked BNA-DTW-CDG-VIE for a week in Austria and VIE-CDG-MSP-BNA back, 117,000 miles, in February.

First choice of seats in business or first on all segments.

    BNA-DTW 1A 717-200
    DTW-CDG 1A 767-400 lay flat
CDG-VIE can’t assign Air France seats yet, A321
VIE-CDG can’t assign Air France seats yet, A320
    CDG-MSP 2A 330-300 lay flat (there is no 1A)
    MSP-BNA 2A CRJ900 (they won’t get me into CRJ900 1A again!)

Thanks for alerting me to this! Got a great Hilton night at CDG with HHonors points and I have a “placeholder” cancelable hotel reservation in Vienna until I can top off my IHG points and make an award reservation. Maybe I’ll get lucky and find it on the winter points break!

    MY QUESTION!

I was in a hurry, can I modify this award itinerary and add a BNA-ATL leg at the end a few months out for possible future use, with no further miles?

    THANKS
