As I’m sure other moms have also experienced, its been a while since I really bought clothes for myself since I was either hoping to be pregnant soon or actually pregnant for well over a year. And maternity clothes decidedly do not count as real clothing purchases! As I am transitioning back into “normal people clothes” I’m finding some gaps in my closet, and have started to dream of getting a couple new items at some point soon-ish.
It seems like the American Airlines eShopping portal is reading my mind/dreams and they are currently offering 15x miles on purchases at Neiman Marcus Last Call. This is the discount arm of Neiman Marcus, so while the clothes are still made by some of the same designers or name brands, the prices aren’t nearly as high as you may have seen at Neiman Marcus. That said, there are still things you may not need for trips to the grocery store like $7,000 designer dresses marked down to $2,000, but there are much functional items, too. I don’t recommend buying items you don’t actually need just for miles, but I am a big fan of timing purchases with increased mileage payouts when possible. So, if you are like me and need a few more solid pieces of “real people clothing” this might be a good day to browse online.
A quick look at some other portals showed that the United MileagePlus Shopping portal is paying out 10x miles at various shoe sites including: ShoeMall, New Balance, and Finish Line. That portal does sometimes require you to have a co-branded United card like the United MileagePlus® Explorer Card to get the highest payout amounts, so if you don’t see 10x at those retailers, that may be the cause.
Now to find time to browse for clothes….
