The “membership” I probably use most frequently in recent years is unquestionably Amazon Prime. There is no doubt I get more than my $99 in value from this yearly membership through the benefits – most frequently the free two day shipping and $3.99 one day shipping (for when I really need something ASAP). While I certainly get my $99 in value over the course of a year, paying less is always better, and for today only you can get your first year of Prime for $67!
While this isn’t a travel specific deal, I know lots of us love Amazon and Prime, and they are even more helpful for those who are frequently on the go traveling and don’t have time to do all their shopping in brick and mortal stores. Amazon has discounted the price of Prime for one day to $67 in honor of their win with the series, Transparent, in the recent 67th annual Emmy awards. Regardless of the reason for the price drop, I’m thrilled to see the ~33% price drop on something that hardly ever gets discounted.
Although the price in your cart will show $99, the promotion discount will be applied at checkout.
I mentioned I’m mostly into the free two-day shipping, but there are many other perks for Prime members these days including:
- FREE Two-Day Shipping on millions of items
- Unlimited, ad-free access to over a million songs
- Instant streaming of thousands of movies and TV shows with Prime Video
- Free unlimited photo storage in Amazon Cloud Drive
- Read free books each month through Kindle First and the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library
If you go for this remember to pay with a Discover Card that gives 5% back on Amazon purchases this quarter (if you have one). Depending on the Discover Card you have, that may even be doubled to 10% back dropping your total out-of-pocket price even lower!
The discounted pricing runs today only from 12:00 a.m., ET, through 11:59 p.m., PT.
