Starwood Launches Biggest Sale of the Year

Hyatt launched their Holiday Sale a few days ago and now Starwood has just launched their “Biggest Sale of the Year” with prices reduced as much as 35% at over 1,100 SPG hotels and resorts for stays through September 4, 2017! This sale runs through December 4, 2016.

I did some spot checks at places ranging from the Westin Woodlands, to St. Regis New York, to St. Regis Punta Mita, to Sheraton Steamboat, to Le Méridien Barcelona and in every case I checked there were dates when the “Biggest Sale of the Year Rate” was indeed the cheapest rate available as it was less than the Best Available, the SPG Member Rate, the AAA rate, and more.

Of course this sale rate is also probably the most restrictive rate as it does not allow for changes or cancellations, so be very careful with your planning if you opt to book this rate. Also note that not all hotels are offering the larger discounts of 30 – 35%, so as always compare all rates carefully before choosing the best one for your situation.

I’d much rather stuff our stockings with planned trips than more gadgets and gizmos, and these travel sales may be a great way to get that accomplished. Feel free to share if you find some great sale rates!

  1. I saw this sale before I saw your post while I was babysitting my existing reservation. Just rebooked part of a stay @ the St. Regis Bal Harbour. 30K points/night no longer made as much sense when the rooms were sub-$500.
