Earn 1,000 Bonus SkyMiles With Each Delta Partner!

Delta has a pretty fun new promo that is available to all SkyMiles members (except those living in the APAC Region) that awards bonus miles for new partner transaction that you credit to SkyMiles! For each new participating partner you earn miles with during the promo, you’ll get 1,000 bonus miles on top of the regular miles earned for that transaction. They define “new” as a partner you have not earned Delta miles with since March 24, 2016.

You must register for the 1,000 mile Delta promotion here and then from March 24, 2017 – June 30, 2017, you can earn 1,000 bonus SkyMiles for each “new” partner you utilize to earn SkyMiles, on top of the regular miles you earn.

Delta Promo

Most of Delta’s non-airline partners qualify for this promo, though Citibank Asia is expressly excluded from this offer, as are airline partners.

Here are examples of eligible Delta partners for this 1,000 mile bonus promo.

Credit Card Partners

Delta Amex Credit Cards like the Gold Delta SkyMiles® Business Credit Card from American Express or Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express.

Airbnb, Hilton, Hyatt, Carlson, IHG, Marriott, Accor, Langham, Maritm, Millenium, Delta.com Hotels, World Hotels, Shangri-La.

Car Rental

Hertz, Alamo, Enterprise, Europcar, National, Sixt

Limo & Shuttle

Super Shuttle, Carmel, Execucar

Cruises and Vacations

Agoda, Delta Vacations, Skymiles Cruises, Skymiles Villas

Shopping and Dining

Biscoff Store, Energy Plus, FTD.com, Gilt, SkyMiles Dining, SkyMiles Shopping, Vinesse Wine Club

Some obvious easy partners to utilize for the 1,000 mile bonus promo are the SkyMiles Shopping and SkyMiles Dining programs. If you have a Delta Amex you haven’t used in a year or so, that would be another easy way to pick up 1,000 bonus Delta miles by using it for a purchase. If you have a one-off Super Shuttle ride, Biscoff order, or Gilt purchase, it probably would make sense to do it from Delta’s site as linked above to credit to SkyMiles to trigger the 1,000 mile bonus for those partners as well….assuming you haven’t done so since March 24, 2016.

I will add that while this promo is pretty fun in that there are lots of ways to earn bonus miles, 1,000 bonus Delta SkyMiles really shouldn’t be valued much over $10 for most people, so don’t go out of your way spending extra money on this one. Instead, just credit some eligible activity to Delta instead of another program where it makes sense to do so.

I’d love to hear your plans for racking up some bonus Delta SkyMiles thanks to this promo!

  1. […] Earn Bonus SkyMiles with Each Delta Partner:  For each new Delta partner that you earn SkyMiles with, you’ll earn 1,000 Bonus SkyMiles on top of that.  For example, if you credit your Hertz car rental to Delta to earn SkyMiles, you’ll earn an additional 1,000 SkyMiles.  If you have any purchases to make with Delta partners, you might as well earn some bonus miles with it! […]

      • Can we simply charge a bottle of water at a Hyatt then switch back to our preferred card(on Hyatt site) and still earn the points(looks like 500 for Hyatt).

        • Geoff, my experience with crediting to airline programs with Hyatt is you have to pick one way to earn points/miles and that is it for that stay. So, you would have to credit a whole Hyatt stay to Delta SkyMiles and then you could switch it back to Hyatt for the next stay.

          • If I choose Delta for our one night stay next week would that preclude me from earning a “brand” credit(Hyatt Place, in this case) night(for Cat 1-4 cert for 5 brands this year) on a cash & points stay?
I assume not but these promos cross pollinate in a confusing manner.

          • It is confusing, but I am 99.999% sure that it won’t impact earning credit for that brand as it is still a stay in your Hyatt account…just not one that earned you points since you credited it to miles. You can double check with Hyatt on that, but that would be my best guess.

  1. Nice! I have a Hilton stay coming up, have not earned Delta miles through them before. Was also about to book an Airbnb, so that’s 2k miles right there.

      • They do! 3 miles for every dollar if you book before April 30th. I already have an Airbnb account so I can’t get the extra miles from signing up as a new member, but can’t beat that promo plus the 1k miles.

  2. Oh wow. I am going to have to look at this and try and figure it out.

I hope people keep posting ways to do this. Do you have to have a Delta credit card to do it?

  3. I have a Delta Amex card but I have already used it in the last 12 months. Can I upgrade the card to another Amex Delta card, use it and get the bonus or is this not going to get me any bonus?
