Today’s Daily Getaways sale at 1PM Eastern is actually pretty interesting, though it won’t be a perfect fit for everyone. For $175 you can purchase 15,000 Wyndham Reward points which gets you a night at any one-bedroom Wyndham Rewards property around the world. As of a couple of years ago, Wyndham Rewards charges a flat rate of 15,000 points for an award night regardless of whether the property is the best or worst in their program.

Now of course this means that there are a big chunk of Wyndham Rewards properties such as most of the Days Inn, Ramada, Super 8, etc. that aren’t going to be worth 15,000 points, especially at a cost of $175 for the points, but Wyndham does have some nicer properties that routinely sell for more than $175 per night.

Examples of Wyndham properties where you will often pay more than $175 per night are:

  • Wyndham New Yorker
  • Wingate by Wyndham Midtown Manhattan
  • Hotel Henri Manhattan

Hotel Henri

Wyndham also has some all-inclusive properties that can also be booked for just 15,000 points per night.

These properties include:

Viva Wyndham Heavens

Viva Wyndham V Heavens

Another good possible redemption is with the Dolce family of hotels in cities like Aspen and Napa.

Dolce Aspen

Aspen Meadows Resort

You can also use Wyndham points to help knock down the nightly rate as shown below at a hotel such as the Days Inn Maui. Instead of paying 15,000 points for the free night, or $217 for the nightly rate, you can spend 3,000 points + $90 per night via a “Go Fast” award.

Wyndham also allows you to use 15,000 points per night at condos and even cottages across the world, so these 15,000 points can be very useful for the right traveler. Do keep in mind that Wyndham Rewards points expire after four years unless they expire sooner because you have no activity for 18 months. In other words, these aren’t points you can just purchase and forget about indefinitely.

You can purchase a maximum of two packages via this Daily Getaways sale, and I expect the 1,143 packages to be spoken for relatively quickly. Are you in the market for Wyndham Rewards points at a rate of 15,000 points for $175?

  1. Anyone who is considering buying thinking they could get a condo, home, cottage, etc should know it isn’t that easy. I tried to get ANY home or condo in Park City (may be close to a hundred shown). Nothing available using points the first week of Nov or even random dates that the lady in reservations tried for in September. Couldn’t use Go Fast or Go Free. I asked her to look at several different ones, that showed online they were available to rent, but that doesn’t mean you can book them with points.

  2. Yipee a $175 room at the Super 8. I kid, but Wyndham sure has done a good job at the race to the bottom. Also, I’m pretty sure this was $150 last year.

    • It was $150 last year. I think there is a niche buyer here, but certainly still a buyer that could come out ahead with the right planned uses.

    • Carl, if memory serves, I don’t believe they update the exact number, but it may switch to “limited quantity”.

  3. Hey MP. I am sitting on a little over 100,000 points (Thanks for the reminder that they expire). In your opinion, which wyndham properties are the best value using points?
