One of the many benefits of the Amex Platinum cards is that they provide Hilton Gold elite status to cardholders, and actually even to additional cardholders. Hilton Gold status is a pretty solid elite status to have as in addition to getting bonus points and preferred rooms, it can even get you lounge access and free breakfast at some Hilton property types.
Now the Amex Platinum cards such as The Platinum Card® from American Express and The Enhanced Business Platinum® Card from American Express OPEN are not only providing Hilton Gold status, but also 7,500 bonus Hilton points to US cardmembers who have an eligible two night Hilton stay this summer from May 7 – August 7, 2017, and pay for the stay with their Amex card! The terms indicate that you need to have used your Platinum card to obtain Hilton Gold status, though I don’t know how strictly that is or isn’t enforced. I would still register for the promo even if I had obtained my Hilton elite status elsewhere.
You do need to be sure to register for this promo before your Hilton stay in order to get the bonus 7,500 points. I think this promo is pretty cool not only because of the bonus points, but also it serves as a good reminder to utilize the elite status perks that the family of Amex Platinum cards provide.
