If you love travel, airports, airplanes, insider access to airline and hotel executives, having a great time, and meeting lots of like minded people then you want to keep reading and seriously consider embarking on a one-of-a-kind trip that goes on sale tomorrow. This trip starts on September 19th and it will take you on a chartered plane from Vienna to Brussels to Palma de Mallorca. Along the way you get to visit the Austrian Airlines operation center, celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Star Alliance at the Park Hyatt Vienna, get a behind the scenes tour of the Brussels airport, attend a cocktail reception at the Park Hyatt Mallorca, and then spend a day with the World of Hyatt.
This adventure is called Star MegaDo 8 (read this post to answer the big question of “What is a MegaDo”) and it goes on sale tomorrow, May 11th, at 9AM Pacific. If history is any indicator, it will sell out pretty quickly. Tickets to the event start at $999 and that covers your seat on the chartered flight from Vienna – Brussels – Palma de Mallorca, some ground transportation, some meals/drinks/snacks, and admission to all of the events. It does not include getting yourself to/from the chartered flights and hotels.
I have been on several MegaDo trips in the past and they really are a blast as long as you are up for an adventure. They do tend to run a little short on rest and a little heavy on partying, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing as long as you are in the right frame of mind. I will admit to throwing away my purchased economy ticket back to the US from a MegaDo in Europe years ago because I was beyond tired and didn’t think I could physically sit upright any longer. Instead, I made the very reasonable decision to book a Lufthansa First Class award so I could sleep all the way from Frankfurt to San Francisco. Those were some of the best miles I ever spent! I was then rested enough to keep up with the next few stops of that MegaDo back in the US.
Those who attend this event will receive trial Hyatt Explorist status from September 19th, 2017 through December 19th, 2017, and then also are eligible for a Elite Quick Qualify offer of stay 10 nights during the 90 day window to maintain Explorist status, or 20 nights to earn top tier Globalist status.
I’m a little jealous of everyone who gets to go on what I’m sure will be a memorable journey through Europe on a chartered A320!
