One of the biggest reasons I got the Hyatt credit card back when I did back in 2015 was to take advantage of a cardholder only program that awarded a percentage of redeemed Hyatt points back for a number of months. They ran a similar promo again last summer, and this morning’s great news is that they are brining that promotion back again this summer for Hyatt credit cardholders!

From June 1 – September 5, 2017, registered Hyatt Credit Cardmembers will receive 10% of their redeemed Hyatt points back! This point rebate is valid for award stays, Points + Cash stays, room upgrades, and dining and spa service redemptions. As an example, this means that a three night award stay at a 20,000 point per night property like the Hyatt Lost Pines Resort pictured below will result in you getting 6,000 points returned to your Hyatt account!

Enjoy Hyatt Lost Pines for just 18,000 points per night this summer!

The summer season is obviously when lots of families like to cash in their Hyatt points for award travel, so I love that this is when the promo is live! When strategizing how to maximize this promo, remember that you can transfer Hyatt points to others for free to make an award redemption, so if your partner or traveling companion has the Hyatt card and you don’t, it may make sense to transfer points to them and make the redemption from their account.

I was told that new cardmembers are eligible for the promotion as long as they get the Hyatt card and register for the promo by June 30, 2017. Additionally, you do not have to cancel and rebook existing reservations in order to take advantage of the promo. Big thumbs up to World of Hyatt for bringing back this promo and making it applicable during the busy family travel months! While we are on the topic of Hyatt promos, make sure you are also earning bonus points on your paid Hyatt stays through June 30, 2017!

How many Hyatt points will you save thanks to this new cardmembers offer?

Only points redeemed between 6/1/2017 and 9/5/2017 will be eligible for this promotion. If a redemption is connected to a stay, the entire stay must be completed by 9/5/2017. You will receive 10% Bonus Points back on the World of Hyatt points you redeem for award stays, points + cash, suite upgrades, dining and spa services during this period. 1. Awesome! This was also the reason I initially applied for the card two summers ago. We spent ten days on Maui and a night each direction in California, so I racked up. This summer, we have a one-night stay at the Times Square Hyatt Centric and a three-nighter at Grand Cypress over Labor Day weekend, so at this point, I’m expecting a 7,000 point rebate. Yippee!

  2. If I read this correctly, this latest offer seems stackable with the double points after first stay offer running now? Earn double, receive 10% back from using. Nice. Is this targeted?

  3. are you sure it works for existing reservations since points are ‘used’ when making the reservation? I saw this when registering:

“They’ll automatically be deposited into your World of Hyatt account after your points have been used. ”

20 stays booked this summer – this would be amazing!

    • It should work for any points coming out of your account for award rooms as far as I understand it.

  4. This is great! I am booking 6 nights (2 Club Level rooms) at Lost Pines this summer, along with another stay at a Hyatt Place. Should get back 16,700 points. Thanks Mommy Points!

  5. Yay! I’ll get back 4500 points for my Hong Kong trip next month… not a ton, but more than I currently have! Thanks for the tip!

  6. I hope there isn’t a catch to this one like the current double your points promo. We had a 27 night stay but didn’t earn any points because the catch was after your second stay. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard of a catch like that, so when I spoke with Hyatt requesting my points, they said it was all in one stay and there was nothing they could do for me. So, we were supposed to check out one night and check back in to receive points. Disappointed with the promo and with Hyatt at the moment.

    • That is a big bummer. Bonus points after the first stay is relatively common in the hotel loyalty space, but that doesn’t make it any more pleasant to have missed out on all of those points.
