Tropical Storm Cindy is about to play havoc on weather and travel along the Gulf Coast, and the airlines have been putting out weather waivers so travelers can proactively change their plans to or through the impacted areas without paying a penalty. We were scheduled to fly back to Houston tonight, and really weren’t thrilled at the idea of trading sunny Rhode Island for Tropical Storm Cindy gloom in Houston.

Surprisingly, until this morning United hadn’t included Houston in their travel waiver city list despite it having an active Tropical Storm Warming. However, that has now changed and we are staying put a couple more days. In case you or someone you know is also impacted in some way, here is an updated list of airline weather waivers in effect due to Tropical Storm Cindy.
