Six more days. Y’all, school officially starts here in six more days. Not just meet the teacher or orientation night or whatever, but an actual real school day with a 7:10AM bus pick-up is in just six days. I have mixed feelings about this return of pre-dawn wake-ups, evening homework battles, never ending paperwork, daily lunch kit packing, the onslaught of extra-curricular activities, second grade best friend drama, and more, though the idea of getting back on a regular schedule from a work perspective sounds fan-freaking-tastic.
Anyway, since we are now public school veterans with a whole year under our belts, I was able to just order the school supplies we needed with one click of the mouse a few months ago. This was much better than the four stores and many hours of scavenger hunting it took to compile all the required materials last year when we didn’t know about the June online order cut-off. We are very fortunate in that our biggest PITA with getting school supplies right now is just tracking them down. We are certainly not swimming in cash Scrooge McDuck style, but we are able to purchase school supplies without it being too painful. I know that is not the reality for lots of others.
So whether you still need some school supplies (or anything else) for your family, or you want to purchase a few for those who may need a little extra boost this time of the year, you might want to make use of a Chase Pay offer that is awarding 10x Ultimate Reward points for Walmart.com purchases, up to $250 in purchases.
I just placed an order for some extra school supplies and back packs that we will donate, so I can’t yet promise that this 10x points bonus works for my account since the transaction is still pending, but there are many online reports of this working for those with a card in the Chase Freedom or Sapphire families without getting an email from Chase about the promotion.
As you can see below via the screen shot from Reddit, this 10x promotion reportedly is running from August 1 – August 31, 2017. Walmart had good prices for what I needed, so I was happy to use them for an order regardless of whether or not I get 10x (though I hope I do), but if you want to be 100% sure your Sapphire or Freedom cards will work for this offer via Chase Pay, then you could secure message Chase for verification. I’ll update this post if/when I see the 10x in my own account.
When placing your Walmart.com order remember to first go through the online shopping portal of your choice. TopCashBack is currently awarding 5% cash back for Walmart.com purchases, though I personally went through the United portal as this order pushed me over the necessary amount for one of their sitewide bonus miles offers that run for another week or so…they have a handy tracker if you have lost track of your purchases.
When you are checking-out from Walmart.com, be sure to select “Other” and the “Chase Pay” to get in on the 10x points using a Freedom or Sapphire. The credentials to log into Chase Pay were the same as my online personal Chase account. Word on the internet is that the offer does not work for Chase small business cards.
Bottom line, whether you need school supplies or something entirely different from Walmart.com, I recommend going through an online shopping portal and then checking out using Chase Pay and a Sapphire or Freedom card to hopefully earn 10x points this month!
