I absolutely love it when I can save money or earn extra points on some of life’s necessities since that makes it all that much easier to have wiggle room for some of life’s more fun things…like travel! A penny saved is a penny earned or something like that…
Right now there are two different promotions going on for online Walmart purchases that can help you save on some necessities like groceries and school supplies. One is open to anyone with a Chase Sapphire or Freedom card and the other is a new targeted Amex Offer.
Earn 10x Chase Points at Walmart.com
I already shared some info about the first Walmart related promotion that awards 10x Chase Ultimate Reward points for purchases made at Walmart.com with a credit card from the Freedom or Sapphire families using Chase Pay from August 1 – August 30, 2017, on up to the first $250 spent. I never got an email from Chase directly about this promo, but I tried it out anyway and am happy to share that the 10x points are indeed showing on my online statement after using Chase Pay and my Sapphire Reserve for a Walmart.com purchase.
Get $20 Statement Credit on $100+ in Groceries from Walmart Grocery
A brand new promotion that is available on some Amex accounts via a targeted Amex Offer, awards a $20 statement credit with $100+ in one or more transactions online at grocery.walmart.com by 9/30/2017. This grocery service is not available at all Walmarts, but if it is available in your area then you can make your Walmart grocery selections online and then pick-up your completed order at a Walmart store for no additional fee. It looks like delivery (for a fee) is even available in some areas.
It seems you can also get $10 off a $50+ Walmart grocery order with code WOWFRESH – or you can get a $10 credit when you are referred by another member (they also get $10). I have yet to use this service myself, though I absolutely plan to using this Amex Offer and the new customer discount. Stacking these two offers and being able to essentially get $110 in Walmart groceries for $80 (without having to physically do the shopping myself) sounds like a winner to me.
This is a small sample size, but my mom and I both had this Amex Offer available on our cards in the Amex EveryDay® Credit Card family. Enrollment is limited with this offer, so I would log onto your Amex account and check your Amex Offers sooner rather than later as I imagine this will be a popular offer.
Note that the offer is valid only on grocery.walmart.com on the US website. It excludes purchases on third party or affiliated websites linked with/from grocery.walmart.com (such as but not limited to Walmart.com, Walmart Contacts, Walmart Checks, Walmart Photo Services, Walmart Stationary, and Walmart Moneygram).
Not to get greedy, but when shopping at Walmart online, remember to first go through a site like Cashback Monitor to earn some additional miles and points on your online Walmart purchases.
Do you plan to use either or both of these Walmart related offers?
