Please forgive all the hurricane related posts around here today. For those of us here in Texas, Harvey is pretty much our entire world right now as we worry for those hit hard and wonder what else will fall from the sky closer to home, but I know for others it is not as of quite as much interest as it is for us. I promise this focus won’t last forever, but hang with me for a little longer if you will.
Along those lines, if you have the interest to make a donation to a variety of organizations either because of Hurricane Harvey, or you just otherwise feel compelled, right now a few airlines will give you miles for your troubles.
United will match the first $100,000 raised through this campaign and United MileagePlus members who donate a minimum of $50 to any one of their four charity partners will earn bonus miles.
- Donate $50-$99 USD and receive 250 MileagePlus bonus award miles
- Donate $100- $249 USD and receive 500 bonus miles
- Donate $250 USD or more will receive 1,000 bonus award miles
Donation must be made between August 26 – September 15, 2017 to qualify for the bonus miles.
From August 24, 2017 – September 24, 2017, with a minimum $25 donation, American AAdvantage members can earn 10 miles for every dollar donated to the Red Cross. Mileage will appear on mileage statements within 30 days of donations being made through the above link.
If you see other airlines offering miles for donations please let me know and I’ll get them added.
